AAP MLA from Okhla and Delhi Waqf Board chairman Amanatullah Khan arrested alleges AAP leader Sanjay Singh
The Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate sleuths on Thursday under Prevention of Money laundering Act in connection with irregularities in the Waqf Board alleged AAP. He is also the chief of the Delhi Wakf Board.
There were allegedly several charges of money laundering and corruption in appointments in Waqf Board and other financial irregularities, the charges which the Okhla MLA has outrightly denied and termed his arrest as political vendetta of the government.
In a video posted in social media the arrested MLA Amanatullah Khan has said that the various investigative agencies have been harrassing him for the last 1.5 years.
They want me to leave AAP and Arvind Kejrival and give a statement against him. But since I didn’t do that today they have arrested me. And even after being arrested let me tell you that the way I have been doing the welfare related works of Okhla would continue in future also. Even while remaining in jail we will do all the works of all colonies of Okhla with the advice of Arvind Kejrival . We have given the advise to our team and they will do the needful by contacting them individually. I have done lot of works in Wakf Board but they have fully destroyed it. I request you to pray for me said the arrested AAP MLA in the video posted in social media platform X.
Earlier to the arrest of Amanatullah Khan Okhla MLA, the Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh had while speaking to media said that the Supreme Court had told that ED does not have any evidence, despite this the ED is arresting the AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan.
Our leader Arvind Kejriwal was arrested, Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain were arrested. Under the leadership of Modi and Amit Shah, efforts are being made to topple the AAP government by arresting MLAs. If anything wrong happens to any of our MLAs then the entire party will stand with our MLA and his family said Sanjay Singh MP who had recently been out on bail after being imprisoned in Tihar on the charges of liquor exam pertaining to the new liquor excise policy of Delhi government.
In an earlier tweet Sanjay Singh wrote that the Modi government is fully involved in operation lotus. Preparations are being made to arrest our MLA Amanatullah Khan by fabricating a baseless case against him. The dictatorship will soon end. The AAP MLA who was being interrogated since the last 9 hours yesterday was arrested in the charges of accepting illegal gratification under money laundering Act in the appointments in Waqf Board.
On the directives of the Supreme Court Amanatullah Khan was produced before the ED for interrogation. There are serious charges against him for appointing 32 persons in Waqf Board illegally.
In addition to this there are also charges against him for illegally renting the Waqf board properties and also misusing , embezzling the funds of the board of which he is the Chairman.
The then CEO of Delhi Waqf board has turned witness against Amanatullah for illegally appointing 32 persons in Waqf Board against financial irregularities etc.
After the arrest of Amanatullah Khan the vociferous leaders of AAP and minister Aatishi and Sanjay Singh MP had gone to the MLA’s house to meet his wife and family.
it may be recalled that the CBI has in 2022 September interrogated Amanatullah Khanin a case pertaining to corruption lodged against him. The CBI’s Anti Corruption Bureau had raided on different locations of his and unearthed Rs 24 laks in cash in addition to pistol with no licence and ammunition etc. He was thereafter arrested but released in 28 th December in bail.
