In Uttar Pradesh the opposition leaders during the rule of BJP have been held under preventive custody under the guise of violating 144 or creating bottlenecks to traffic etc with several senior police officials encircling the cars of senior opposition leaders.
Even peaceful protests to seek justice are not being allowed and leaders of various opposition parties who wanted to wipe the tears of the aggrieved families whose near and dears succumb to injuries due to political vengeance as happened in Lakhimpur Khiri and earlier in a gang rape and obnoxious murder of a Dalit girl at Mathura, Hathras including Arun Balmiki’s alleged death in police custody at Agra , the charge denied by the UP police and administration etc leaders of various opposition parties viz Congress, AAM Admi Party, Trinamool Congress, RLD etc were denied permission and subsequently arrested.
The entire country knows how Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi was denied permission earlier and held in preventive custody in Lakhimpur Khiri case and thereafter at Delhi Agra national Highway, finally allowed after several hours of confrontation with authorities.
Similarly today the Rajya Sabha vociferous and vocal Member of Parliament Sanjay Singh and AAP supporters were not allowed to hold the TIRANGA YATRA at Varanasi n arrested with 26 AAP workers, in the parliamentary constituency of prime minister Narendra Modi.
After reaching Banaras from Agra where AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP had visited the family of deceased Arun Balmiki to express his deepest condolences and part the grief with the bereaved family who had lost their son, working in Jagdishpur police station as sweeper and allegedly involved in a theft case, Sanjay Singh was officially stopped by senior police officers and not allowed the hold the TIRANGA YATRA on the pretext of disturbing the traffic and not seeking advance permission from the authorities.
In a report ( notice) the SHO of Thana Mandvadih, Commissionarate Varanasi, has stated that in view of not seeking the permission of a rally to be led and addressed by Sanjay Singh, MP, AAP at Ambedkar Park the said rally has been declared as illegal prohibiting the AAP leaders and workers to hold it terming it as illegal. In case anyone violates the orders a strict legal action will be initiated against them forthwith.
The letter ( notice) was sent under section 149 CRPC.
In a tweet AAM Aadmi Party national convenor and Delhi CM annexing the tweet of arrested Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh while expressing his serious concern over the arrest of their leader and MP Sanjay Singh wrote in Hindi : How can it be a crime to organise a Tiranga YATRA ( Tricolour Yatra) in our own country ? Why, those unfurling Tricolour had been arrested ? What type of law is this, questioned Arvind Kejriwal, in his tweet.
Previously, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh tweeted : in Uttar Pradesh the rule of Britishers is being followed. See the language of the notice. See the administration of Adityanathji having declared the TIRANGA YATRA as illegal. In Yogiji’s rule murder is no crime but organising Tiranga YATRA is definitely a crime tweeted Sanjay Singh.
In his vedio released in social media holding Tiranga in his had after being not allowed to hold the TIRANGA YATRA and prohibiting him to go to the Yatra spot in Varanasi by senior police officials and arresting him Sanjay Singh, AAP leader said that the RSS which has not saved the Tricolour over their headquarters during several years are today stopping us to hold the TIRANGA YATRA. I condemn it it strongest terms. Tiranga is our Aan, Baan aur Shaan said Sanjay Singh.
In another tweet, the retired IAS officer Surya Pratap Singh wrote : In Uttar Pradesh, especially in Varanasi, the opposition leaders are not allowed to either meet the distressed victim or hold any propaganda meeting.
