AAM ADMI PARTY SUPPORTS YASHWANT SINHA’S CANDIDATURE. President election’s voting on 18 th July with new president to be declared on 21st July.
The voting for the presidential election is taking place on Monday, 18 th July and the results will be declared on 21 st July. On this day the 15 th president of the largest democracy of the world will be declared n sworn in. Presently, there are two candidates in the fray. One BJP led National Democratic Alliance candidate, the former Jharkhand governor n a tribal leader Mrs. Draupadi Murmu and another, the non BJP opposition candidate, former union minister n TMC MP Yashwant Sinha. Both the candidates are visiting all the states eliciting support in their respective favour, addressing n interacting with the lawmakers of parliament as well as state assemblies n union territories having affiliation to their respective ideologies. While, the BJP allies of National Democratic Alliance are strongly with them extending their unflinching support to their own candidate Mrs Murmu Draupadi, some of the allies of non BJP opposition parties ( combination) have deflected and have surprisingly sided with the NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu. The Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Maayawati was the very first leader to openly extend her support to the BJP led NDA candidate Ms Murmu catagorically saying that the BSP has decided to extend support to Draupadi Murmu in the coming presidential elections keeping in mind that Adivasi Samaj is an important part of BSP’s movement.
She added that the support is not in favour of BJP Or NDA Or against UPA but in support of making a dedicated and capable Adivasi woman the president of India said Maayawati further criticising the opposition parties for not consulting her or taking her into confidence in the process of finalising the presidential candidate. So far the non BJP opposition’s unity seems to be in jeopardy as some political parties which were expected to support their presidential candidate have stood in favour of the NDA adivasi nominee Draupadi Murmu, to the utter dismay of the UPA. So far Bahujan Samaj Party, Shiv Sena, Janata Dal Secular, Shiromani Akali Dal and even Jharkhand Mukti Morcha have extended their fullest support to the BJP candidate. Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Aam Admi Party extended its support to the UPA candidate Yashwant Sinha in a high level meeting held in New Delhi. In a statement the Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said that the party has today extended its official support to the non BJP opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha assuring that its all MPs n MLAs will vote for him. It may be recalled that the Aam Admi Party has governments in Punjab and Delhi. It have 62 lawmakers in Delhi and 92 in Punjab with 7 Rajya Sabha MPs from Punjab and 3 from Delhi. In Goa too AAP has two lawmakers. Actually during the Presidential Elections, the net value is calculated after taking into acount the total numbers of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha MPs and the lawmakers of all the assemblies of the states and union territories. At present the total value of votes is 1,086,431. The winning presidential candidate should get 543,216 votes. The opposition is lacking far behind this time having total 360,362 votes whereas the BJP led NDA candidate seems to be a sure sort victor with 533,751 votes. Wishing Draupadi Murmu all good luck.
