Aam ADMI Party activists, MLAs n Councillors with JJ cluster people to protest outside BJP headquarters on 21 st Jan says minister Gopal Rai

The AAM ADMI PARTY will protest outside the BJP headquarter at Rouse Avenue, New Delhi on 21 st January against the demolition of various Jhuggi Jhompri clusters where thousands of AAP activists, JJ cluster inhabitants from various JJ camps of the national capital will participate. The AAP is commencing a campaign titled “Ghar Bachao BJP hatao” from tomorrow and will protest outside BJP headquarters in New Delhi on 21 st January.

All the lawmakers of NCT of Delhi hailing from AAP and municipal councillors to go in every JJ cluster in Delhi and mobilise the inhabitants against the demolition threat of the central government after notices have been issued to two camps of New Delhi constituency and two JJ camps at Dhaula Khan and Mehrauli have already been demolished bringing the poor and hapless people literally on roads in this chilling winter season.

This was disclosed by the minister of AAP government in Delhi Gopal Rai who accused the BJP leaders for first giving false promises to protect the slum clusters during elections and after elections are finished they uproot them demolishing their jhuggis making them homeless especially during the ongoing winter season.

Accusing the BJP government as anti poor demolishing the JJ clusters bringing the poor on roads in this chilling cold, Gopal Rai said that even the courts say that the people living in JJ clusters could not be destabilized or their houses demolished unless they are adequately settled or alternate recommendation provided to them.

Gopal Rai announced that from tomorrow the mobilisation campaign will start from DID n another camp of New Delhi under its “Ghar Bachao BJP hatao campaign” who’ve been issued demolition notices and all the AAP MLAs and councillors have been directed to visit all the JJ camps of Delhi to hold meetings and mobilise the cluster people so to to enable them participate in the rally to be held on 21 st January from DID and BR Camp, in New Delhi constituency to the BJP headquarter in which all the MLAs and councillors will actively participate to exert pressure on the central government to give up demolition exercises of the JJ clusters in Delhi.

It may be recalled that the governments during the Sheila Dikshit government in Delhi when Congress was also in power at the centre a policy was designed by the then minister (housing) Jaipal Reddy and Ajay Maken ( state minister) regarding in situ upgradation of these clusters by way of constructing multi story housing buildings through PPP model in the same localities with adequate facilities etc.

But the government changed and since 2014 the BJP came to power at the centre and Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP since 2013.

The honourable courts have also ruled time and again that the land owning agency is bound to provide accommodation to the inhabitants of JJ clusters first and then evict them but it’s a common practice that it seldom happens.

The examples of Dhaula Kuan and Mehrauli clearly indicates that the inhabitants of these J. J. Clusters have been brought on the road in this chilling cold not caring for them, their school going children etc.

In two messages on social media platform Gopal Rai wrote after the PC posting his video too : The BJP hates the poor!! Despite the court saying to first rehabilitate them the BJP is making them homeless by bulldozing them. The AAP will start the campaign titled “GHAR Bachao Bhajapa hatao”. THE CAMPAIGN WILL COMMENCE FROM THE BR CAMP AND DID CAMP by way of a NUKKAD SABHA. ( CORNER MEETING) In another message in X he said : The BJP has expedited the campaign to make the poor homeless !! Different agencies have been given direction by the central government that they make the poor homeless during the chilling cold weather. After Mehrauli and Dhaula Kuan now is the turn of BR camp and DID under NEW DELHI who have been issued eviction notices wrote Gopal Rai in X.
