A woman travelling in Mussourie Express from Delhi to DD finds her wallet with cash and debit cards stolen the next morning !

There are several complaints about unwanted elements, thieves, imposters and article lifters allegedly active in Railway stations and trains who allegedly rob passengers and sometimes dupe the families or solo travellers, especially women who travel on long journeys taking advantage of their sleeps and carelessness posing to be fellow passengers or by sharing their seats on one pretext or the other etc. These elements allegedly enter trains in between and after committing theft etc get down on other stations. I remember several years ago, one on my relatives was robbed of their jewels and money when they were to board a train from Dehradun Railway station to a location in UP. Since then despite complaints there is no trace of a single item n jewel. One of our acquaintances was a cabinet minister in Uttarakhand government who took the matter with the highest police officer but nothing came out of it till date.

The police outside the Railway stations and railway police hardly prove successful in nabbing these the culprits or give concrete results tracing the lost money or valuable items despite lodging of complaints as usually the complainants either give up hope or because of their living in other states hardly get time to remind the RPF of action to be energised or follow the complaints.

On 14 th June, daughter of my friend Rajendra Raturi who was coming to Dehradun from Delhi to receive her daughter studying in a school in Mussourie had lost her wallet containing Rs 6000, NRI card etc which was inside the purse.

According to a complaint filed via Rail Madad Rajendra Raturi while talking to uknationnews.com said that his daughter Roshni had bought a water bottle from Delhi Railway station and boarded a train on 14 th June. She fell asleep in the train from Ghaziabad and when she got up on 15 th June at Dehradun, she noticed that her wallet was missing in the purse though the mobile, purse everything was intact. The wallet had 6000 Rs and debit card, an NRI card as well. The FIR copy is self explanatory. The CCTV footage are reportedly not available as the Dehradun CT incharge Sandeep said that they are not under his charge. Now, this is not acceptable !

Bothered father of Roshni, Rajendra Raturi has urged the RPF to kindly try their best to bring the culprit to book and if possible trace the wallet with cash and debit cards etc at the earliest. Complainant Roshni travelled on train number 14041, Mussourie Express from Delhi to Dehradun boarded on 14 th June night which reached Dehradun, next morning and when the passenger checked her purse, she found the wallet missing and finally lodged the complaint via Rail Madad. The authorities concerned, hopefully must be doing their best to bring the culprits to book.
