A woman tragically killed by a maneater in Khirsu Block near Koti village at Khandah. Locals highly enraged !

The ruling political dispensation of Uttarakhand seems to have list the moral right to rule as the heartwrenching incidents of Maneater and Wild bear attacks leading to shocking fatalities have become the order of the day in Uttarakhand and in particular in the Pauri, Chamoli and Tehri Garhwal districts with people living in terror, schools closed in Pokhra developmental block and women, children and old aged becoming extremely vulnerable. The Maneater leopards/ tigers are roaming around freely near human habitats and attacking the local residents some grievously and many succumbing to the injuries. The Forest and wild life department seems to be completely hapless with the unfortunate tragedies taking place one after another. In Khirsu Khandah block near Pauri township in Koti village a maneater has made a woman its prey who had gone for arranging fodder for the pet animals like buffalo, cows etc. This tragedy occured at 4 PM in the evening. After hearing the news the Forest officials reached the spot and were gheroed by the local residents. The highly enraged residents said that the wild life and forest department has almost become defunct. The human beings are consistently becoming the prey of maneaters and nothing is being done to kill them. They said that if the wild life or forest department is unable to kill these maneaters they should give the guns to the villagers and allow them to safeguard themselves. They said that they are fed up with the assurances of the forest department officials as nothing is being done to protect their lives and of their children. They have demanded immediate killing of the maneater leopards. Just a day before a woman has been grievously injured after being attacks by a wild bear in Chamoli compelling the Chamoli police to issues and advisory. The situation in Uttarakhand especially in the Pauri and Chamoli is extremely grim and invited the immediate intervention of the chief minister.
