A woman grievously injured by the wild bear attack in Paab village in Chamoli . Rescued


The terror of maneaters and wild bears is so rampant in Uttarakhand especially in Garhwal region that a woman was grievously injured and made unconscious by a wild bear attack Paab village in Chamoli Garhwal
yesterday evening.

When the woman who had gone to arrange fodder and cut grass for the animals like buffalo and cows didn’t reached her house, the villagers and the family members went to the nearby sites at the agricultural lands and the jungle periphery after lodging her complaint.

They were shocked to see the woman lying unconscious with wounds on her face and head probably by the wild bear. She had lost one of her eyes and had fought with the bear using her suckle. However, she fell unconscious and remained in the jungle for the while night freezing in the cold temperatures.

She was immediately ferried on a stretcher and sent to the hospital for urgent medical attention and thorough treatment.

The case of wild bear attacks in Chamoli district have increased with more than two dozen attacks on women in the month of November with one women succumbing to the injuries.

The forest department and the local residents of her village reached the spot to rescue the grievously injured woman.
