A woman driving a scooty died and her mother with two grandchildren grievously injured after her scooty feel in a deep gorge near Guards, Narendra Nagar, Tehri Garhwal
Uttarakhand has become a synonym of fatal accidents.
After two back to back fatal accidents in Chamoli district where two cars met with dreaded accident falling three hundred metres down after their drivers lost control losing ten lives which included wiping out of a complete family, another deadly accident has occured yesterday at Narendra Nagar near Gujarada at New Tehri where a woman died on the spot and two children and her mother grievously injured after her uncontrolled scooty fell down in a deep gorge several hundred metres down. All the three grievously injured were ferried to the hospital where the woman who was driving the scooty succumbed to the grievous injuries. According to the news reports a woman Anju Devi was driving a scooty number UK 07 FF 0338 accompanying her mother and two children from Ghansayali to Dehradun. However, near Narendra Nagar near Gujarada the scooty went out of control felling down in a deep gorge . After hearing the cries and screams of the victims the people around informed the local police and SDRF which arrived at the accidental spot quite in time and rescued the injured sending them immediately to the nearby hospital. During the treatment while the woman driving the scooty succumbed to grievous injuries, the mother of the deceased and two grandchildren are being treated of their injuries. There are numerous factors responsible for fatal accidents viz. rash driving, blind turns, driving in intoxication, unmanned roads with potholes, squeezed roads, driving in speed, lack of sleep of the drivers, using mobiles while driving, overloading of buses, max taxis, vehicles and above all the apathy of the traffic and transport department with no adequate signboards on blind turns , no regular checkings on roads ,no challans nothing.
