A woman dies in Chinyalisaud after a maneater attacks her leaving her mutilated behind.
The maneater attacks in Uttarakhand are not coming to end with several incidents of brutal human deaths witnessed in every two three days with their badly mutilated bodies found in the nearby forests or bushes, in some cases with decapitated heads etc. Moreover, now the government of Uttarakhand has given up hiring professional hunters as used to be the case earlier depending and relying solely on the wild life and forest department giving them special training regarding controlling the carnivores, making them unconscious, through tranquilizers , sending them to zoos or killing them if dire need be. Just yesterday under the jurisdiction of Chinyalisaud development block in village Bhadkot a dreaded maneater has attacked a woman and brutally killed her after dragging her to the nearby forest from the agricultural field where she had gone to arrange fodder for the domestic pets Buffalo and cows. The maneater has so badly mutilated her after grabbing her by the jaws that she breathed her last on the spot. The district magistrate met the bereaved family and expressed his deepest condolences including assuring them to accord them the due financial compensation from the government and also fitting cages at relevant locations in the village to trap the maneater who is a potential threat to others as well. He also assured to accommodate one of the family members in government service through Yuva Kalyan Kendra. The sub district magistrate Minakshi Patwal and other senior officers including police officers were also present at the meeting.
