A villager killed by maneater in Pauri Garhwal district, villagers angered , want killing orders of the predators


The Maneater attacks in Garhwal, Uttarakhand especially in Pauri Garhwal district are not coming down but increasing day by day. Just in a week two deadly attacks by Maneaters took place causing ine tragic death of a woman in Koti Gaon with one injury to a four year old girl child in Dewar village of Kot Block.
Prior to this few weeks ago a death by maneater had occured in Dandrial village and in Srinagar as well where a maneater was also caged by the forest department. In Pokhra too there had been casualties by maneater including the wild bear deadly attacks in Chamoli and Rudraprayag district killing ine woman and grievously injuring several others with pet animals too.
As a sequel to these ongoing deadly attacks of predators – in Pauri Garhwal ‘s Gajalt village near Satyakhal bazaar, ten kilometres away from Pauri, this morning a person has been killed with his mutilated body found in the nearby jungle. The inhabitants of the village and the surrounding areas are extremely panicked and in anger demanding the Garhwal DFO to come to the spot and also the district magistrate. The infuriated villagers are fed up with the increasing deadly maneater and wild bear attacks and want that orders be issued to kill these maneaters than caging them in the Iron cages.
Though the police officers have reached the spot and are trying to pacify the angered villagers they are insisting that the DM and the DFO Garhwal reach there and talk to them giving assurance to kill the maneaters. They said that the dead body will not be allowed to be lifted until the DM and DFO reach there and give them assurance regarding killing of the maneater.
