In Uttarakhand – maneater attacks have become the order of the day and the inhabitants of the villages in Garhwal and Kumaon division are badly terrified as the lives of women folks, Children and senior citizens are at stake. Hundreds of leopards and tigers have turned maneaters in view of the encroachment by human in their territories and lack of food. The villages too are empty with increasing migration to cities, towns and metropolises for want of jobs, health facilities and quality education. Not a day is left without the wild life human conflicts and loss of lives. The maneaters are wandering everywhere especially near human habitats prowling for human flesh. Yet today a woman was tragically killed by a maneater in village Kholyu Gaon Kyari Almora Salt, where nearly a hundred villagers jammed the tragic for several hours. As a result around fifty policemen were called to disperse the angered villagers. After the demand of the enraged villagers three iron cages with goats tied to to them were fixed in order to nab the maneater. There is panic and share all around and the villagers are demanding immediate tranquilization of the predators or if necessary killing them bh taking the services of professional hunters.
