A traveller on a scooty out of three died after a boulder fell on them at KARNAPRAYAG

Uttarakhand has become synonym of casualties, whether they are the accidental ecological casualties, casualties by wild animals, especially man-eaters or by mishappenings on the roads by way of vehicles falling in deep gorges or by other means. In plain language casualties and injuries, serious in nature have become synonym of Uttarakhand Himalayas. We have been hearing about deaths every now and then as above or during pilgrimages in lakhs of the four historical ancient religious/ spiritual portals/ destinations not to speak of casualties during trekking or due to cardiac arrests or accidents in chopper rides including tragic deaths by landslides, especially during monsoons. As if these deaths were not enough just yesterday at Karnaprayag a pillon rider or on steering out of three on a motorbike died brutally after a boulder fell on the running scooty on which were travelling three persons including its driver. As soon as the scooty with three passed near the landslide zone a huge boulder fell on the running scooty with a person having died on the spot. This was indeed a very traumatic tragedy. Such tragic incidents have been regularly happening in Uttarakhand as several such tragedies have occured earlier too when all travelling inside the running car or vehicles dying on the spot due to boulders felling on them.
