A portion of APPROACH ROAD OF GHANYADI BRIDGE PLUMMETED in Uttarakhand inviting protests from opposition party leaders !

There have been several news about Uttarakhand’s newly constructed bridges coming down sending an unambiguous message about the alleged sub standard or below quality construction by contractors in league with the engineers etc involved in the construction process. It sounds shocking that several bridges in Uttarakhand have collapsed in the past with several casualties sending a message about rampant corruption going on in the 22 year old state, procured after so much of sacrifices of our brave heart separate movement activists.

As if this was not enough yesterday Dhayaadi bridge’s approach road nearBhopalpani at Dehradun was badly damaged with a portion of it literally coming down as a result of which the traffic on Airport Road was completely blocked creating massive traffic jams.

What is interesting to note here is that the inauguration of this bridge was executed by the then chief chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.

The Congress party and Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, a regional party of the state has accused the BJP government for corruption regarding the sub standard technology and maternal used in the construction of this bridge and the approach road.

Meanwhile the President of Uttarakhand Congress Karan Singh Mahara visited the demolished site and raised the issue of corruption in the construction of this bridge and approach road, that crumbled down with a bang.

The state vice president MD Joshi was also present with Congress workers. Not only this but the approach road of the Song River Bridge was also demolished during the monsoon season.

It may be recalled that in the past the temporary bridge built following the the collapse of the Shiv Nagar – Ravindra Nagar cemented bridge in Udham Singh Nagar district headquarters , Rudrapur was washed away due to the water current in the Kalyani river after sporadic rain in the area.

Apart from a 20 metre long portion of a 432 metre long bridge built by the PWD department in 1964 it was plummeted into the monsoon fed Jakhan river.

This happened in Rishikesh. A Rishikesh Dehradun highway too collapsed into a swollen river heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand. The pillars of Ranipokhri bridge, ten kilometre from Dehradun airport, gave away in this mishappening. These bridges constructed with crores of rupees of tax payers money demolishing in short span of time unambiguously speaks of the sorry state of affairs of Uttarakhand sending message of acute corruption taking place in construction activities of large projects not only leading to massive loss to public exchequer but also risking lives of the people.
