A Nepali becomes the maneater leopard ‘s fatal attack at Bada Gram Panchayat in Garhwal with villagers badly outraged and infuriated
During the last five years more than hundred people have died due to Maneater leopard attacks in Uttarakhand

In Garhwal, Uttarakhand, the people are extremely angered and infuriated as the maneater attacks resulting in tragic fatalities of human beings have crossed all limits.
There are news about several maneaters being captured in iron cages or tranquilised but the maneater attacks and subsequent fatalities are not receding rather increasing.
It’s not that, only the maneaters are invading into human habitats and brutally killing the women, children, senior citizens and even the youngsters but the wild bears have also created havoc in Garhwal, Uttarakhand.
During November and December there have been more than thirty wild bear attacks and mostly the women and senior citizens were their prey in Garhwal, Uttarakhand.
It’s a type of the ecological and wild bear attacks related emergency situation in entire Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand where the forest and wild life departments have literally failed with no concrete policy on the wild life human conflicts and increasing fatalities with people preferring leaving their villages for their and family’s safety and security.
Just today in Garhwal’s Bada Gram Panchayat under the jurisdiction of Pauri Garhwal district a Nepali origin’s man have fallen prey to a maneater brutally killed and his mutilated found nearby in the bushes.
The villagers under the Bada Gram Panchayat are badly angered and outraged demanding the killing of the maneater at all costs as the lives of their children and family members are in acute danger.
Though there is no accurate statistics on maneater killings and injuries the government has fixed the rate of a human life to 5 to 6 lakhs rupees and this financial compensation gives the concerned department immunity from their responsibility to safeguard the inhabitants of Uttarakhand villages.
This tragedy occured near Gajald village in Pauri Garhwal where a month ago a person named Deepak Nautiyal was killed by a maneater when he had gone to light a lamp at a temple near his village. He was young.
It may be recalled that as per the Uttarakhand government statistics during the last five years about 100 people have succumbed to the attacks of maneaters in Uttarakhand whereas during the last twenty five years since the state came into existence this figure comes to five hundred fatalities. Here we are not taking about those grievously injured and lost their vital parts of the body and have become adversely impacted due to the predators attacks.
