A man grievously injured by a wild bear in Devprayag development block in Garhwal

The situation in the interior villages of Uttarakhand is extremely worrisome with the wild life and human conflict surging high with over thirty attacks of wild bears on human beings during the past two months and unaccounted number of maneater attacks as well with several serious injuries and casualties.
Not a day is passed when the wild bear attacks are not occuring. The women and senior citizens are their direct victims. There seems to be no relief from the government side as the forest and wild life department officials despite doing their best couldn’t control these mishappenings except caving negligible number of leopards and bears but not actually trapping the maneaters.
Just today a bear attacked and seriously injured a person in the village council Shrikot Pandula of the development block #Devprayag in Tehri Garhwal district.
There is panic all around. The person injured grievously on the face was profusely bleeding with several wounds. His eyes and forehead is injured seriously.
Unfortunately , the common citizend of the mountains are suffering due to the consequences of wanton destruction of forests, neglect of wildlife, and failure of ground protection.
Wild animals terrorize every village and city—and the government remains silent!
If this person suffers any permanent damage, the government and administration will be solely responsible said the outraged village residents.
Don’t force people to defend themselves and protect their lives. The mountains will not be empty. We know how to protect our rights, our forests, and our lives. No more silence—we want protection, not pretense said the angry villagers in view of the increasing wild life attacks on the local populace with women and senior citizens lives at stake and children not able to go to their schools. They are demanding a concrete policy on the increasing wild life human conflict and subsequent protection of the people living in villages of Uttarakhand in particular.
