A lineman on contract basis dies of current while he was rectifying the line fault climbing on the Pole in Pauri Garhwal

A very tragic news is coming in from Rikhnikhal block, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand where a lineman ( mechanic with the electricity department ) met with unfortunate death while he had climbed the electricity pole to rectify the existing fault. According to this latest tragic news an employee with the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited Anil Negi originally hailing from Khutidaa village, Nainidanda block had climbed a pole to rectify a fault after the power went off in the area. While he was busy finding and rectifying the fault the heavy current resulted in his instant horrific death. This fault had occured on the power line in Rikhnikhal near Khimakhet. The deceased employee of the UKPC with the private contractor was merely twenty six years old and was extremely hard working and dedicated towards his duty. He was put on the line without any safety equipment and the line had been shut down, then who got it shut down is a matter of investigation ? There is a shock wave all around after the tragic demise of Anil Negi. The Congress leader Raghubir Singh has demanded a thorough probe into this deadly incident and blamed the system for not providing him the adequate safeguards. He also demanded a financial compensation of Rs. 50 lakhs with immediate effect to the bereaved family of the deceased power corporation employee Anil Negi who was working on contract basis including a permanent job to a member of the family who had lost a young invaluable life at the mere age of 26 while in the line of duty. This is not a mere death but the silence of the system and existing insecurity of the contract workers in government who are never take care of during duty hours said Raghubir Bisht.
