A HOMESTAY OWNER COUPLE DUPED BY A FAMILY AFTER STAYING FOR A MONTH IN “PRISM HOMESTAY IN CHINYAALISAUD , Uttarkashi
In Uttarakhand after the subsidy given by the state government lots of homestays are being opened in the interior villages of Uttarakhand in order to earn livelihood and self empowerment. Since these homestays are comparatively cheaper than hotels and the tourists get homely environment , the home stay concept has gained momentum with people earning handsomely.
Moreover since the people of hills are sombre, polite and well behaved , the tourists visiting Uttarakhand and living in homestays find themselves in a home away from home in pleasent serene environment in the lap of fresh oxygenated air and healthy environment feeling extremely homely.
Though, in one of the cases a home stay owner of “Prism Homestay” husband wife in CHINYALISAUD had a very bad experience after they were duped by a family from Maharashtra who left their homestay after staying here for a month,not paying a single rupee, leaving the inflated electricity bill of Rs. Nine thousand behind, duping the maid of Rupees twenty thousand assuring her to repay in double as his card is blocked and also a grocery shop owner by purchasing the grocery items worth Rs. Nine thousands.
According to the husband wife owner of the PRISM homestay in CHINYALISAUD, a month ago a family visited their home stay and pretended to be rich living in Malaysia , though from Maharashtra having come to Chinyalisaud on the advise of the doctor as his wife is suffering from Blood cancer.
The owners of the homestay believed and allowed them to stay taking a negligible advance payment.
The family consisting of wife and children stayed in the home stay for a month, used electricity and cooked food themselves including served to the owners to take them into confidence.
During their one month say they duped the maid taking 20000 rupees from her as credit promising to return her double the credited amount the next day, taking grocery items of Rs eight thousands from the local grocery shop and finally leaving the house clandestinely duping the homestay owners as well leaving the inflated electricity bill of Rs 9 thousand behind.
The family said that they were lucky that since their other rooms were locked they couldn’t be duped of theft of gold jewellery as the family used to curiously inquire about the gold NATHLULI and other jewels and was impressing the owner to help in buying land there.
May be he could have duped them further during the land deal had I helped them said the owner of the home stay who is also a government employ.
After this incident he appealed to all the homestay owners not to rely much on the tourists visiting them , be cautious and careful and rent heir homestay for just two or three days than giving for longer periods as given the fraudster couple by them for a month who duped them , the maid and the grocery shop owner.
After the checking the adhar card of the fraudster tourist ny the homestay owner they found it on the address of Himachal Pradesh though he had mentioned that he is the resident of Mumbai , though living in Malaysia and have business in Dubai etc according to a video released by Bhaskar News portal.
