A Bus with Orissa pilgrim falls ten metres down on house top near Srinagar. Three injured

Uttarakhand has become synonym to accidents , majority of them being extremely fatal. These days due to opening of the four spiritual/ religious historic ancient temples viz Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri, Hemkunth Sahib and Gangotri lakhs of tourists are arriving at Garhwal, Uttarakhand for paying obeisance to Lord Kedarnath, Badrinath, Ganga, Guru Gobind Singh deity etc and the footfalls are in millions.

The traffic jam as a result at Srinagar Garhwal and near these temples is tremendous, as pilgrims from all over the country and globe throng here in large numbers. Srinagar, Garhwal after Devprayag from where flows the pious Ganges after the confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda at Devprayag is the biggest thoroughfare for these four shrines particularly for Kedarnath, Badrinath and Hemkunth Sahib.

There is a strong belief that inorder to seek spiritual salvation at least once in life visiting these four ancient shrines is mandatory , this is what our ancient Vedas reveal. Today, a bus with pilgrims from Orissa were heading for Badrinath. The bus was fully packed but fortunately since the bus was parked at Srinagar for lunch all the passengers had exited to to restaurant.

Three passengers finished their lunch fast and returned to the Bus. While the bus was parked on the road side safely, there were houses on the down side of the road.

All of a sudden it automatically started moving may be due to slant and uncontrollable fell upside down on the roof of the house below with three persons inside it being injured, who were taken to hospital. Had the passengers been in the bus the tragedy would have been enormous.

Thank God there wasn’t any casualty. This accident occured near Srinagar at Pokhal Syalkhand, on Tehri Srinagar road. The bus fell ten metres down on the roof of the house injuring three. The 108 Ambulance immediately ferried the injured to the Base hospital Srinagar.
