A popular television actor of ,”Bhabhi ji Ghar Pe Hain”, serial in a humorous role of Saxenaji who keeps his audience glued to their seats at homes, Saanand Verma has been awarded the prestigious Dada Saheb Falke Icon Award in Mumbai.

Very few people know that this great actor who carved a niche for himself after immense struggle and by the dint of his hard work, sincerety, dedication and love for acting was actually a journalist having worked in popular hindi daily of Uttar Pradesh, now popular in Delhi as well n other parts of India having served since 1991 in Delhi edition as reporter/ correspondent and then in Nai Duniya after 1992.

According to senior journalist Sanjeev Acharya, to whom he was in close proximity, after moving to Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh as Bureau chief, prominent actor Saanand Verma could not continue as a journalist as being a committed n dedicated actor his mind and heart always motivated him to be an actor finally compelling him to shift to Mumbai, leaving behind regular journalism.

A man with agile nature and comedy in his blood n a good actor, Saanand Verma finally acquired a place for himself in Mumbai in 2012 after tremendous struggle having acted in number of movies and television serials, but coming to actual limelight with his outstanding role in popular TV serial. ” BHABHI JI GHAR PE HAIN, ” having immense TRP at the pan India level.

Primarily from Patna, Bihar Saanand Verma acted in Mardaani, featuring Rani Mukerjee in a lead role in 2014 followed by Raid and Pataaka in 2018 and in 2019 with Sushant Singh Rajput in his super duper film CHICHORE. In 2021 he acted in Ram Singh, Charlie followed by in Raat Baaki hai, Helmet and Hum Do Hamaare Do in 2021.
