Dewasthanam Board be revoked immediately on the lines of 3 farm bills demands Congress leader Upadhyay

After the prime minister’s announcement of repealing the three contentious farm laws yesterday, in Uttarakhand, the demands for repealing of the past chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat’s decision on Dewasthanam Board is gaining momentum with several Congress leaders demanding revoking of this decision, forthwith.

The former chief of Uttarakhand Congress and founding leader of Uttarakhand Vanadhikar Andolan Kishore Upadhyay has asked the CM, Pushkar Singh Dhami to immediately revoke the Dewasthanam Board which got the entire governmental control of the management of Chardham and more than fifty other temple trusts , immensely opposed by the priests community n other managers etc. (Hak Hukukdharies).

Giving the instance of taking a decision to repeal the three contentious, farm laws by prime minister, Kishore Upadhyay said that now following suit from it, the state govt should without any further delay abolish the Dewasthanam Board.

He added that all the necessary arrangements during prime ministers visit to Kedarnath Dham went into awry due to the existent Dewasthanam Board.

Not only the teerth purohits (pilgrimage priests) but also each and every person associated with the spiritual journey arrangements are fed up he added.

As a result this has adversely affected the “Bhog process” Of Lord Kedar. In view of the shortage of woods to burn, to cook the “Bhog”, to be served to Lord Kedar, which is considered as miracle, has also been adversely affected added Kishore Upadhyay.

Criticising the decision of handing over the present management of Temples to Dewasthanam board, Kishore Upadhyay said that the over bureaucratic interference in the functioning of the temple affairs, no priest is in a position to take any credible decision.

In view of the adverse impact on the working of previous temple trusts by Dewasthanam Board, the pilgrims as well as the priests and hak hukuk dharies are badly opposed to it and are demanding status quo to be maintained by abolishing the Dewasthanam Board forthwith said Congress leader Upadhyay.

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had assured the priests to revoke the decision but nothing has been done in this regard till date said the Congress keader.

Kishore Upadhyay demanded that today the portals of Lord Badrinath Dham are being closed and three farm laws have also been withdrawn to be formally ratified by parliament, then why not the decision of Dewasthanam board is also revoked on these lines forthwith demanded Congress leader Kishore Upadhyay honouring the sentiments of pilgrims, priests n hak hakukdharies.

It may be recalled that the former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat was not allowed to pay obeisance in Kedarnath Temple recently when he visited the historic shrine being opposed by vociferous priests n pilgrims shouting go back slogans.
