The heart wrenching, most tragic news of this time for the entire Uttarakhand is coming from Jammu and Kashmir after another brave heart of Uttarakhand posted in terror infested J&K has been martyred while defending Mother India.
The martyred soldier has been identified as Rohit Rawat who was posted in 20 Garhwal Rifles of the Indian Army and originally belonging to Mendu Sindarwal village of Ghansali area of Veerbhoomi Tehri Garhwal.
As soon as the shocking news of the martyrdom of just 21 year old soldier Rohit Rawat reached the village and surrounding areas, a wave of mourning spread in the entire area like a wild fire with everyone in tears and intensive grief.
According to the information available so far, Rohit Rawat was posted in the 20th Garhwal Rifles of the Indian Army and was currently serving in the Jammu area. It is being reported that he was martyred while serving the country at around 3 am on June 10th. Upon receiving the news of his martyrdom, a mountain of grief fell upon the family. There is mourning in the village and people are continuously visiting the martyr’s house to console the family. However, it has not yet been ascertained under what circumstances he was martyred.
The mortal remains of martyr Rohit Rawat were brought to his native village by the Indian Army on June 11th. As his tricolor-wrapped body arrived, the atmosphere became solemn. Villagers, public representatives, and people from nearby villages are arriving in large numbers to pay their last respects. Every eye is moist.
