Tragic accident on Bhiri-Pelling road: Celerio vehicle falls into ditch; 3 dead, 5 injured



A tragic road accident occurred on Friday afternoon in the Ukhimath area of Rudraprayag district. A Celerio car (UK 13 B 4293) lost control on the Bhiri-Pelling motorway, fell into a deep ditch approximately 50 feet below the road, and became stuck on a tree.
Three people died in the accident, while five others were injured.
Upon receiving the information, a joint rescue operation was launched by the Kotwali Ukhimath police, SDRF, DDRF, and local residents, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rudraprayag, Vikas Pundir. All the injured were immediately removed from the vehicle and sent to the Community Health Center, Agastyamuni, for treatment.
According to the police, the vehicle was heading from Banswara to Pelling/Uthind village.
Mahendra Singh (68), a resident of Uthind village, his son Anjan Singh (42), and Sangeeta Devi (32) died in the accident. Police have sent the bodies to the district hospital for post-mortem.
Reshma Devi, Dakshit (5 years), Sanvi (3 years), Vihaan (8 years), and Vaibhav (10 years) were injured in the accident and are undergoing treatment.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident. The area is mourning the accident.
