Madhu Kishwar served notice by Chandigarh police, directed to present herself in Sector 26 Chandigarh police station, FIR lodged

The Chandigarh police on the complaint of a city resident has registerd an FIR against the leading women activist, writer of a book on PM Narendra Modi titled Modi, Muslims and Media: Voices from Narendra Modi’s Gujarat”, and founding Editor, publisher of a leading women magazine Manushi , Ms Madhu Kishwar for allegedly sharing and retweeting an objectionable video with obscene text and content in social media.
According to reports a video misrepresented on X alleged criminal defamation, forgery and promoting enmity.
The police have reportedly served the notice at the Manushi Delhi office asking to appear in Chandigarh police station Sector 26, said a report.
The sections under which the FIR has been lodged against the Manushi editor, academician and renowned author Madhu Kishwar are : 196 (criminalises acts that promote enmity, hatred, or ill-will between groups based on religion, race, language), 336 (1) (forgery) and 356 (criminal defamation), of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, besides sections 66 C, D and 67 of the Information Technology Act.
It may be recalled that editor of Manushi and leading activist cum author Madhu Kishwar had been vociferously speaking with various media channel journalists targeting the BJP and its topmost leader including Smriti Irani, the former union minister and several other women leaders etc.
After the Chandigarh/ Delhi police came to her office to serve the notice to appear in the Chandigarh police station for the necessary questioning she tweeted four times. The first tweet yesterday revealed : Our security guard just informed me that five police personnel, including two women police, have landed at my office.
Since I was recording a video, I told them to wait a while.
But coming at this late hour does not bode well.

In the second tweet she wrote : Strange, the guy from Delhi police was escorted by the security guard to the elevator. He came all the way up to my floor but back without meeting me saying he has been called back by his boss. Enclosing to this was her earlier tweet in which she said : Now another team from Delhi Police has arrived at Manushi office!

She had created lot of controversy after her lengthy tweet on X earlier levelling serious allegations without any credible evidence and then giving more controvertial interviews to various news channels.
