Ambassador of France to India Thierry Mathou writes to Rajasthan CM about delay of their project due to non sanctioning of land despite higher prices compared to the existing prices

The ambassador of France to India Mr. Thierry Mathou has written hard hitting letter to the chief minister of Rajasthan Mr. Bhajan Lal complaining about the inordinate delay in allotment of a land in Rajasthan for opening a Malt factory despite the deliberations with the concerned department and the assurances given thereoff.

The letter addressed to the Rajasthan CM says that despite the positive exchanges and the understandings reached dorung the previous meeting with him, ( Rajasthan CM) the company has unfortunately not been able to secure the land.

The French ambassador in India says what is surprising in this regard is that the company RIICO has recently proposed the allocation of the land at a price that appears substantially higher than what had been discussed, while also extending the proposed timelines for land allotment, with completion now anticipated by end of December 2026.

These conditions place the project at serious risk and create uncertainty regarding its implementation, despite the company’s continued commitment to invest in the State of Rajasthan.

The ambassador concluded the letter saying that Soufflet Malt India would respectfully request the opportunity to hold a new meeting with you to discuss the challenges that they are facing and identify a mutually satisfactory way forward while also assuring of the company’s full committment to the project thus standing ready to meet the Rajasthan CM at any time of your convenience.

Such delaying tactics especially with the foreign companies who are investing in India shouldn’t take place in India as such lethargic posture on the part of state governments not only bring bad name to the country but also desist the foreign investors to invest in India.
