Lot of government money is spent on advertisements pertaining to the Ayushman health scheme which guarantees free treatment to the patients in all the private and government hospitals to the tune of probably Rs five lakhs.
In Uttarakhand in every election whether of assembly or parliament the BJP leaders have been propagating about this scheme patting their backs and seeking votes.
On television channels advertisements costing several crores are spent to propagate such schemes with the pictures of the state CM and our honourable prime minister on it.
Lots of people have sought benefit in terms of free treatment in private and government hospitals but in Pauri district hospital the situation is more worrisome as the patients are complaining that the AYUSHMAN Health CARD is not being entertained and the patients have to pay from their personal pockets knowing very well that in Uttarakhand majority of the people living in hills and rural areas are poor and can’t afford to pay and it’s because of this reason that the women, men, old aged citizens throng in government hospitals for redressal of their health related grievances free of costs.
A person named Vinod Danoshi , a resident of Pauri, Garhwali had gone to Pauri district government hospital for conduction of some tests.
When he went to the counter producing his AYUSHMAN CARD , the hospital staff refused to accept it saying that it is not applicable and he has to pay rupees 680 . The logic given by the hospital staff is that it’s only after the patient is admitted that the Ayushman card will be applicable.
When the patient saw the local MLA Raj Kumar Pori in the hospital with the CMO , he complained him about the non acceptable of the Ayushman card in the government district hospital of Pauri.
He requested the MLA to help him. Neither the MLA Rajkumar Pori provided him any relief not the CMO.
According to the social activist Vinod Danoshi if a poor patient will be charged Rs 680 for a minor Ultrasound in district hospital despite having the Ayushman Card , then what is the use of such medical facility which is being advertised so massively everywhere and in every channel but if no benifit to the poor said Vinod Danoshi.
Anguished Danoshi said that one the one hand the government is celebrating the four years completion of Uttarakhand government spending lavishly on the other hand the MLA Pori is sidelining him , not ready to help the suffering patients and on the other hand people asked to pay exorbitantly in guvernment hospitals despite posessing Ayushman Health cards. Shame.
