There will be total prohibition if UKD comes to power in Uttarakhand : UKD chief Kukreti

If the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal forms its government in Uttarakhand with the blessings of the majority of the people there will be total prohibition in the Himalayan state as are three states of the country liquor free, viz Bihar, Gujarat and Nagaland.
If these three states can go without liquor why can’t Uttarakhand. If we come to power in Uttarakhand, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal promises to ban liquor sale in entire Uttarakhand with strict regulations.
These were the views of the veteran leader and President of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal Surendra Kukreti who was in Murari Nagar, Devprayag where hundreds of the local people were sitting in Dharna outside a liquor shop protesting for its closure.
The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal chief Surendra Kukreti strongly contradicted the logic that if liquor is banned in Uttarakhand several liquor mafias will come here to mint exorbitant profit by the clandestine sale and smuggling of illicit liquor saying emphatically that we will not let this happen as when once in Uttarakhand liquor was banned, there was the prevalence of Illicit liquor called TINCHRI, IT WAS THEN THAT THE UTTARAKHAND KRANTI DAL GENERATED A MASSIVE MOVEMENT AND PRESSURISED THE THEM GOVERNMENT TO RAID THE ILLICIT LIQUOR DENS AND FINALLY OUSTED THE TINCHRI MAFIA out of Uttarakhand.
Expressing his complete solidarity with the protesting women and men of Devprayag , Uttarakhand , UKD chief Surendra Kukreti said that we don’t believe in politics and exploiting issues politically as we fought for separate Uttarakhand and never claimed credit for it.
Similarly we are with the people of Devprayag and shall struggle with them till the end finally compelling the government to close the liquor shop in this spiritual township which is known for the confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers finally giving birth to pious Ganga that serves half of the world and quench the thirst of a vast population and fulfil the irrigational needs of parched agricultural fields including provide power for the survival of the civilizations.
Several women protestors who were sitting on Dharna were arrested including Sita Ram Rana Koti to which the UKD chief Surendra Kukreti strongly protested saying that this is the tactics of the BJP government to provide encouragement to the liquor mafia and discourage the protestors unprovokingly by arresting them and not allowing to exercise their constitutional right to protest.
