High level meeting convened by the DGP Uttarakhand and three police officials suspended for dereliction of duty in two murder cases and one Haridwar clashes and firing between two groups on Ravi Dass Jayanti

The Director General of Police, Uttarakhand senior IPS Deepam Seth has held a high level meeting with senior officers of Uttarakhand police in view of the deteriorating law and order situation in the state , especially after the news hype in relation to the developments in Kotdwar and several news and videos going viral in social media about the three back to back diabolical murders in Dehradun and Rishikesh during the last five days including a much hyped suicide by Sukhwant Singh in Kashipur after he was allegedly duped of Rs 3.5 crores in a land sale deal by some property dealers and land grabbers in collusion with the local police with the deceased farmer naming some police officers in his video released in social before committing the suicide, creating quite a furore and uproar in the state and political as well as media circles. Discussing the law and order situation of the state on the direction of the Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami,the DG police Deepam Seth issued strict instructions and directions to maintain the law and order situation in the state including remaining vigilant ensuring that any untoward situation don’t take place in the state. The recent incidents of Kotdwar , three murders of Dehradun and Rishikesh and Kashipur incident were also discussed threadbare and accountability fixed on those responsible for negligence and inefficiency. According the latest news showing tremendous seriousness on being negligent towards cases of diabolical murders etc the DGP immediately suspended the SI Sahil Vashist in the AIIMS Rishikesh woman murder case for exercising negligence in arresting the culprits. Similarly in a case pertaining to the brutal murder of a 12th class girl case, the Sub inspector the Khudbuda police post SI Pradumn Negi has been suspended forthwith. A decision was taken to form an SIT to deal with this case as it relates to a 12 th class student and her mutilated body was found in the bushes, allegedly after the sexual assault though the actual reason will get only be ascertained after the probe. In another case of Haridwar where on Ravidas Jayanti there was physical fights between two groups including firing thus the situation becoming quite worrisome the SI of Bhagwanpur, Chudiyala Area has been Suspended for negligence and dereliction of duty. The meeting chaired by the DGP also looked into the much hyped Kashipur farmer suicide issue in which several police officials were accused of favouring the property dealers in fraud committed with deceased Khushwant Singh in his land sale enabling him commit Suicide. It has been decided to expedite the investigation at the CO level to bring the culprits to book expeditiously and I insisted however influential he may be.
