Appeal to maintain peace and calm at Kotdwar, Pauri Garhwal. Police assured to bring the miscreants to justice .
The situation in Kotdwar, Pauri Garhwal seems to be grim with entire Social media filled with videos and messages congratulating Deepak Kumar who had intervened when several vociferous Bajrang Dal activists wearing saffron Pattas on their foreheads written on them Bajrang Dal had forcibly entered a Baba School Dress shop owned by a Muslim on 26 th January directing him to remove the name of Baba immediately from the shop’s sign board as it amounts to the insult of the deity of the majority community. The owner of the shop, a senior citizen from a minority community suffering from Parkinson disease and under treatment was badly in fear when he was told to do the needful or be ready to face the serious consequences.
While the Bajrang Dal activists were in the shop allegedly threatening the shop owner , one neighbour running his Gymnasium intervened and thwarted their attempt saying as to who are they to pass illegal orders.
There was scuffle between the Bajrang Dal activists and Deepak Kumar who saved the old man from being allegedly attacked .
When asked by the Bajrang Dal activists as to who are you? He responded that he is Mohammed Deepak.
The video when released on social media by the onlookers it went badly viral in social media with media channels in good numbers reaching Kotdwar and covering the event with the news hype making the situation more worrisome.
The police has registed FIR against unknown miscreants and Deepak Kumar including one of his associate who had gone in support of the owner of the School dress and garments shop when the Bajrang Dal activists were threatening them to remove the signboard and BABA name for ever.
Afterwards the Bajrang Dal activists arrived in the market in good number and marched allegedly raising inflammatory statements.
Meanwhile , in a video released in social media Deepak Kumar has appealed to maintain peace and calm including assuring of the fullest cooperation of the police authorities.
The Mahila Congress chief of Uttarakhand Jyoti Rautela also reached Kotdwar and met the senior police officials including the SP urging the police to maintain peace and bring the Bajrang Dal activists responsible for vitiating the peaceful environment of Kotdwar to justice.
She also appealed the people of Kotdwar to maintain peace at all costs.
The police authorities and the SP concerned assured of their fullest cooperation and said that the mischief mongers will not be spared at any cost and shall be brought to justice.
The leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi pronounced Deepak as a hero and brave lion and tweeted in Hindi : Deepak of Uttarakhand is India’s hero.
Deepak is fighting for the Constitution and humanity – the Constitution that the BJP and the Sangh Parivar are conspiring to trample on every day.
He is a living symbol of the shop of love in the market of hatred, and this is what hurts the ruling party the most.
The Sangh Parivar is deliberately spreading economic and social poison in the country, so that India remains divided and a few people can continue to rule through fear.
The BJP government in Uttarakhand is openly supporting anti-social forces that are engaged in intimidating and harassing ordinary citizens.
