World Brahmin Federation expressed its tremendous in objection to new UGC order, demanding its immediate withdrawal

The World Brahmin Federation has taken a strong and serious view of a new UGC order terming it as highly negative for the higher education categorically stating that social justice objectives cannot be pursued by compromising merit, academic quality or constitutional balance in higher education. Rather sustainable inclusion must be achieved through capacity building, equal access to quality education, and systemic reform, not through dilution of standards in institutions of higher earning.
A strong letter addressed to the union education minister signed by the Pandit Shashi Kant Sharma, Chairman WBF India, national president WBF India, K.C.Pandey, and Pandit Sukhbir Sharma, Vice Chairman WBF while expressing their strong and inequitable resentment over the recent order of the UGC emphasised that institutions of higher learning are constitutionally and morally bound to operate on the principles of merit, competence, fairness and equal opportunity. Any regulatory action that directly or indirectly compromises these principles, weakens academic standards, erodes institutional credibility, and damages India’s global intellectual standing is not acceptable to them further stating that the impugned UGC order raises grave and non-negotiable concerns, including:
1. Dilution of merit-based selection and advancement, which is fundamental to academic excellence and global
competitiveness.
2. Potential violation Of articles 14, 15 and 16 of the Constitution of India, by introducing unequal treatment without
compelling constitutional justification.
3. Serious adverse impact on faculty morale, institutional autonomy, research integrity and international rankings
of lndian universities.
4. Absence of due process and stakeholder consultation, rendering the order procedurally flawed and administratively unjust.
