LEFT Parties of Delhi State PROTEST AGAINST DILUTION OF MNREGA SCHEME

A protest was held at E-block crossing at Mangolpuri by Left Parties in West Delhi district. This dharna proceedings were conducted by COM.Mukesh Kashyap of CPI Delhi State Council member and Dy. General Secretary AITUC Delhi State.
It was addressed by Prof. Dinesh Varshney, Secretary CPI Delhi State Council and National Executive Member CPI, Nisha Sidhu, General Secretary NFIW, Shankarlal Secretary CPI West Delhi district and Secretariat member CPI Delhi State, Dharmendra Kumar Verma, Secretary AIFB, Govind Jha, Secretary CPIM West Delhi district, Shivkumar from CPIM, Brijbhushan Tiwari senior leader of CPI in West Delhi, Harish Bala AIYF Secretary.
While addressing Prof Dinesh Varshney said dropping the Name of Mahatma Gandhi from the MNREGA SCHEME shows how BJP stands clear with murderers of Gandhi, our reverred father of the Nation . Than entire scheme is changed in a manner that it will die its Natural death because of four main reasons. One, it’s changed to choice based instead of demand based rural employment of 100 days. Means no money – no job. Second, Modi government says that instead of 100 days they made 125 days. Infact this looks good but factually on 42 days average jobs were provided. Third earlier the central government has to provide 90% and 10% from the state. Now it’s changed to 60% by the Central Government and 40% by the state government. States are already debt ridden. Centre has not provided their even GST share. Every day the BJP – NDA GOVERNMENT is attacking the federal structure of the India enshrined in Indian constitution. Fourth- the budget for the scheme is reduced even after change the full budget as per the 125 days norm which is not provided. All these means that gradually this scheme will die in near future. These changes are brought so that the rural poor’s financial safety and stability is eroded and cheap labour be made available to capitalists as per the desires of ASSOCHAM AND FICCI for the CAPITALIST OF INDIA. Rural poor face multiple hardships due to this changes. To divert attention of the people they have added in its name by using English and Hindi name in a manner that Ram ji word can be misused. He appealed to comrades and people present to be ready to fight for the withdrawal of this new scheme and demanded an immediate implementation of the old scheme of MNREGA which was introduced in India in UPA 1 GOVERNMENT with the initiative of LEFT PARTIES.
ANOTHER protest was held early morning at Bawana JJ COLONY BY CPI North Delhi district
led by Sanjeev Kumar Rana Secretariat member CPI Delhi State and Secretary CPI North Delhi district, Sajida Begum and Dharampal.

Another protest was held at Bawana main crossing Led by Sanjeev Kumar Rana, Joginder Bhagat and others in North Delhi district.
Finally the last protest was held at Mukundpur held by CPI, CPIM North Delhi district led by Sanjeev Kumar Rana and CPIM district leadership.
Other protests were held in the late evening during market hours to mobilise public opinion on this issue said PCI Delhi council secretary Professor Dinesh Varshney.
