Rajendra Chintan Samiti Organises Ceremony on the 141st Birth Anniversary of Dr. Rajendra Prasad
On the occasion of the 141st birth anniversary of India’s first President, Bharat Ratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad, a special ceremony was jointly organised by the Rajendra Chintan Samiti and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) at the statue of Dr. Rajendra Prasad near the Parliament House. Various dignitaries paid floral tribute to Dr. Prasad, remembering his immense contributions and his life marked by simplicity and integrity.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by former Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Dr. Yoganand Shastri, who also offered homage. He was accompanied by Rajendra Chintan Samiti Vice President Vijay Shankar Chaturvedi, Convener Pankaj Sharma, Mrs. Laxmi Devi Sharma, Mrs. Devyani Sharma, and Mrs. Monika Sharma.
On this occasion, Dr. Yoganand Shastri honoured several senior journalists and social workers with the Rajendra Prasad Samman. Among those felicitated were: Ramesh Chand Sharma, Vivek Shukla, Sunil Negi, Sanjeev Sharma, Kodale Channappa, Rahul Sharma, Manoj Sharma, Anurag Joshi, Mushtaq Ansari, Mansi Sharma, Jitendra, Khazan Singh, Sanjay Sharma, Rakhi Arora, Shivani, B.M. Gupta, Aniket, Monika Sharma, and Devyani.
Dr. Yoganand Shastri said, “The life of Dr. Rajendra Prasad is an inspiration of truth, dedication, and duty. His leadership not only gave India its Constitution but also laid a strong democratic foundation. His thoughts continue to guide our nation even today.” He added that Dr. Prasad’s sacrifice, commitment, and service to the nation inspire everyone to contribute towards building a better India.
Rajendra Chintan Samiti Vice President Vijay Shankar Chaturvedi said, “Dr. Rajendra Prasad was a symbol of Indian values and culture. His life teaches us how great work can be accomplished with simplicity and discipline. Personalities like him are rare in Indian history and will continue to inspire future generations.” He added, “From the days of the freedom struggle, Dr. Prasad devoted his life to national service. Following the path he showed is the best tribute we can offer him.”
Convener Pankaj Sharma said, “Dr. Rajendra Prasad taught us that one must remain steadfast in duty, no matter how difficult the circumstances.”
Rajendra Chintan Samiti Conveners Devyani and Monika Sharma said, “On his birth anniversary, we bow to Dr. Rajendra Prasad’s extraordinary leadership, simplicity, and spirit of service. His life is an inspiration for every Indian, and we must follow his ideals to strengthen our nation.”
Several social and cultural organisations participated in the ceremony. Attendees expressed gratitude for Dr. Prasad’s contributions to the nation and pledged to imbibe his ideals. The Rajendra Chintan Samiti and NDMC played a key role in making the event successful, providing citizens a meaningful opportunity to pay tribute to Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
