PAHADI.ai website made by two IT professionals launched by cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal

To contribute towards the preservation and promotion of Garhwali language, two IT professionals from Uttarakhand have developed a website which is the first AI of Pahari languages which is now available for public use.

The Pahadi.ai website was launched by Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister and Language Minister Subodh Uniyal in Dehradun on Sunday.

Now you can ask your questions in Garhwali, English or any other language of the world through just one click like Chat GPT and get their answers in Garhwali.

This is likely the world’s first AI capable of preserving an endangered language. If this model were adopted globally, countless languages could find new life.

Appreciating the move, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal said, “The work of these AI engineers is extremely important for the preservation and promotion of the Garhwali language.
The Language Minister said that many people are talking about Artificial Intelligence but these two young AI engineers have done this work and have done it in a very scientific manner.

In this work, Uttarakhand Language Department and HNB Garhwal University will jointly develop the software completely.”

Jai Aditya Nautiyal and Sumitesh Naithani were working as AI experts in London when they came up with the idea of developing an AI website to promote endangered Garhwali and other languages of Uttarakhand.

After returning, he went from village to village and studied the local dialects, pronunciations, sounds and linguistic patterns in depth.

The project took about a year and a half where he was joined by Dr Aditi Nautiyal who is now the Creative Head of Pahariai and also the Chief of Medical Training and Validation. The website is now available online and for free use.

While launching this AI website, Prof. Mohan Panwar, representative of the Vice Chancellor of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central University, said in this program that this AI website will prove effective in preserving and promoting the mother tongue, Garhwali, and other languages of Uttarakhand. The Folk Art and Culture Performance Center at Garhwal University is working with this artificial intelligence.

Uttarakhand folk singer Narendra Singh Negi was also present on the occasion and said, “The new technology will help the new generation connect with their language.

I believe that new technology should be used to attract the youth towards their language.”

Educationists Dr. Nand Kishore Hatwal, Prof. Prabhakar Badoni, Dr. Vijaykant Purohit, Kirti Navani, Dr. Ishan Purohit, Raju Gusain, Ramcharan Juyal, Sohan Chauhan and Kavilash Negi were present at the inauguration ceremony. The program was conducted by Ganesh Khugshaal Gani.
