A young Gabbar Singh of Fuvaan Village in Uttarkashi digs a mountain and brings road to his village
Nobody had ever heard of anyone exceptional than Dashrath Majhi popularly known as mountain man on whose exceptional outstanding feat, a Bollywood film was also made, after he carved out a road between a mountain leading to his village Gehlaur near Gaya, Bihar out of his intense labour of 22 years with just a hammer and chisel, single handedly.
Dashrath Majhi shocked and stunned the people of his village and the state including Bihar government who never heard to the repeated please of his and villagers to construct a road to his village compelling them to cover a distance of 55 kilometres.
A man with immense determination reeling under abject poverty Dashrath Majhi finally built the road by cutting a mountain single handedly with a hammer n Chisel in twenty two protracted years, measuring 110 meter long, 7.7 meter deep and 9.1 meter wide beyond anyone’s belief not losing his, patience, paying heartfelt tribute to his wife after 1959 when she succumbed to serious injuries, falling from the mountain in his village near Gaya, Bihar.
While nobody could compete Dashrath Majhi till date, but in Uttarkashi a junior Dashrath Majhi has done something unique probably inspired by this legend, by single handedly digging a mountain and constructing a two kilometre road to his village, creating an outstanding record, beyond anyone’s belief.
According to Pahad Samachar, a determined n courageous young man of Fuvaan village in Uttarkashi namely Gabbar Singh has constructed a two kilometre road leading to his village after the state administration and the four local MLAs since the year 2000 had never heard to the repeated pleas of the villagers to construct the road to Fuvan village in Uttarkashi as the villagers had to walk on foot to reach their village on the high altitude mountain.
The villagers of Fuvan were the happiest lot who were extremely overwhelmed when they saw the first vehicle reaching their village on this newly and single handedly constructed road by Gabbar Singh whom they praised, no less than a deity by profusely blending and lifting him on shoulders hailing him for his outstanding feat.
The villagers of Fuvaan Gaon in a function felicitated Gabbar Singh and accused the lawmakers for not hearing to their repeated pleas of constructing the road since Uttarakhand was formed in the year 2000.
In the absence of the road the villagers had to carry the critically ill patients to the road covering two kilometres steep terrain on palanquins or cots including ponies etc.
Fuvaan village comprises of forty five families and Gabbar Singh on witnessing the acute grievances of the villagers finally decided to dig the mountain himself to bring the road to his village singlehandedly and finally succeeded in doing the unbelievable feat. This is in a way a slap on the face of negligent officers and the elected public representatives.
