Gangolighat MLA’s pregnant Devrani’s newly born infant died in ambulance after she delivered on the way

In Uttarakhand the condition of the health sector is so badly deteriorating that even the pregnant ” Devrani” of an MLA has to suffer immensely and inview of the lack of timely treatment due to the non availability of a lady doctor referred to another hospital delivering a baby in an ambulance on the way with the infant dying on the spot.
This is really shameful and terrifying as Uttarakhand achieved the separate status as a state of Uttarakhand twenty five years ago with ten chief ministers ruling it but the condition of the health sector is to square one with patients and pregnant rural women dying or delivering babies on the way, many of them meeting the tragic end, for lack of doctors, surgeons and paramedical staff etc.
This current case pertains to Berinag/ Gangolighat, Kumaon where a pregnant ” DEVRANI” (husband’s younger brother’s wife) of Gangolighat MLA Meena Gangola who was pregnant and developed acute pain being in the final stage of delivery was first taken to Berinag where she couldn’t be treated due to non availability of a doctor/ surgeon and referred to Almora.
The woman delivered the baby in 108 balance on way to Almora and her infant succumbed to various health or treatment related complications.
According to a latest news the Devrani of Gangolighat, Kumaon Meena Gangola aged 29 was admitted to a nearby Berinag hospital after she developed tremendous pain being on the final stage of pregnancy.
The patient was admitted here for four hours at Berinag but since the doctor on duty was in leave the pregnant women was refered to Higher centre Almora.
Since lot of time was wasted in the entire process the pregnant woman delivered baby on the way in the ambulance but was dead. The woman was was shattered hearing the shocking tragedy.
Thereafter the ambulance reached the private hospital at 9 0 clock at Almora. The woman is being treated in the private hospital.
However, according to the Berinag CHC incharge Dr. DEVESH KUMAR, the woman had come to Berinag in a normal condition but in view of the lack of medical attention and the lady doctor there being on leave the pregnant woman was recommended to Higher centre Almora which consumed lot of time resulting in deteriorating health condition of both the woman and infant who died after the delivery in the Ambulance sadly.
