47 year old Kuldeep Nainwal, BJP activist drowned in Yamuna while feeding the fishes , after his leg slipped

The former BJP Karawal Nagar Mandal president drowned in the Yamuna River in the Sonia Vihar area of ​​northeast Delhi on Saturday morning. The deceased was identified as Kuldeep Nainwal (47).

In the morning, after worshipping at the Shani temple, he went to Thokar No. 7 to feed the fishes. After feeding the fishes, as soon as he moved forward to wash his hands, he stepped on a stone and slipped along with the stone into the deep water.

Bystanders raised an alarm. By the time they reached him, he had already drowned. The police, fire department, and boat club were later informed. At around 2:30 p.m., rescuers recovered Kuldeep Nainwal’s body from the Yamuna.

The body was later sent to the Sabzi Mandi mortuary for a postmortem. The Burari police station is investigating the case. Late in the evening, at the family’s request, the police conducted the postmortem and handed over the body to the family.

According to the police, Kuldeep lived with his family in West Karawal Nagar. His family includes his mother, wife Deepa Nainwal, and a daughter, Angel Nainwal. Kuldeep was involved in acquiring electrical contracts.

He used to get electrical work done in large mansions and farmhouses. Kuldeep had been associated with the BJP for a long time. Kuldeep was very religious. On Saturday morning, he had come to worship at the Shani temple in Sonia Vihar.

After performing the puja there, he went to feed the fish on the banks of the Yamuna River near Sonia Vihar, Chauhan Patti, Thokar No. 7. Meanwhile, he stepped on a stone and fell into the deep water along with the stone.

Ran Bahadur Singh Yadav, an acquaintance of Kuldeep, who was present there, shouted and called the people nearby, but by then it was too late. Rescue teams subsequently conducted a rescue operation for several hours. His body was recovered later that afternoon.

Jaidutt Sharma, a close family member, said his daughter is in the ninth grade. The family is in a bad state, weeping profusely.

AAP state convener Saurabh Bhardwaj said that BJP’s divisional in-charge Kuldeep Nainwal drowned in the Yamuna river at Mehrauli, where Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Minister Pravesh Verma were taking a boat ride.

The NDRF, which was supposed to welcome the Chief Minister, didn’t bother to rescue or search for him. Saurabh Bhardwaj also shared two videos on Instagram showing Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Minister Pravesh Verma taking a boat trip.

The second video shows villagers gathering on the banks of the Yamuna River after receiving news of a BJP leader’s drowning. Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the man’s body was not even found in Mehrauli, where Minister Pravesh Verma took the photo.
