Pickup truck falls into thirty feet gorge, seven women pilgrims killed , several injured

A tragic accident took place at kheda Taluka in Pune district of Maharashtra where a pick up vehicle ferrying several women for the darshan at Kundeshwar Temple plunged in a thirty feet gorge resulting in the death of seven wimen and twenty five tk thirty being injured, several of them severely.

This tragedy occured on way to the Kundeshwar Shiv temple at Ghat precincts. According to the latest news some women pilgrims were going to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva at the Kundeshwar Shiv Temple at Papalwadi Pune. While passing through Ghat area their vehicle , may be in speed overturned and plunged in a thirty feet deep gorge eith a huge bang. Seven women died on the spot may due to severe head injuries and several women injured some grievously.

This unfortunate incident has created a stir in the area. While going to Kundeshwar for darshan in Khed taluka, the pickup vehicle of women devotees overturned while climbing the ghat at a curved turn. After overturning 5 to 6 times, this pickup fell into a ditch about 30 feet deep on the side of the road.

There were about 25 to 30 women and children in this pickup. According to initial information, the condition of some is serious and the injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

DCP Shivaji Pawar, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police said that seven people were killed and several others injured when a pick-up van carrying women and children, going to Kundeshwar temple in Papalwadi village, fell 25-30 feet down a slope. The injured have been admitted to different hospitals.
