
The Pragya Arts Theatre Group of Delhi has launched the prestigious awards titled Akhil Bhartiya Bhawani Dutt Thapliyal Sati Natya Lekhan Pratiyogita Awards 2025 and bestowed three awards , first, second and third at Press Club of India precincts ( auditorium) at Raisina Road, New Delhi on 20 July amid an intellectual gathering comprising of writers, journalists, theatre artists, singers, thinkers , actors, directors and producers of regional films of Uttarakhand including eminent litterateurs etc.
The event was organised by eminent theatre activist, artist, director, producer and scriptwriter Laxmi Rawat.

The basic objective of the Pragya Arts Theatre Group with an experience of several decades is to promote the experienced and budding scriptwriters and also document the old plays of Hindi, Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari dialects in order to keep them alive and finally come out with a seasoned book of plays , old and new in order to inculcate in experienced and budding writers to write more and more plays and actors to act in them, thus keeping the national and regional theatre alive and heartwarming for the everlasting entertainment of the audience in Delhi and different parts of Uttarakhand. She also hasplans to organise theatre exhibitions of various outstanding works.
The three judges accorded their judgements on the outstanding plays after in-depth assesment and reading the plays selecting them as the first, second and third winners out of total thirteen plays were eminent litterateur of Hindi and Uttarakhand Ramesh Ghildiyal, renowned anchor, writer of several plays and actor Hem Pant and senior journalist Sunil Negi who is also the editor of Uknation news and president of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum including Director of Press Club of India being on the panel of judges.
After in-depth reading and consultation the three judges arrived at a unanimous decision to declare three names of the writers of the three outstanding plays in Hindi and Garhwali dialects.

The first award with a citation , shawl and Rs 21000 was bestowed to eminent litterateur, story writer, novelist Dr.Hari Suman Bisht for his hindi play PUTLE while the second award with citation, shawl and cash award of Rs 5100 was accorded to Mr. Jageshwar Joshi from Dugadda Garhwal, a former cartoonist, and scriptwriter Jageshwar Prasad Joshi for his play ” Hai Re Safar” in the Garhwali dialect. Dr. Satish Kaleshwari, director, scriptwriter and actor was bestowed with the third award with cash prize of Rs. 5100 , citation and a shawl in a glittering event at Press club of India for his play ” Madhu Mandaan” which has been enacted successfully acknowledging tremendous applause from the audience at LTG theatre, Mandi House in New Delhi and at Lansdowne, Garhwal. Madhu Mandaan play was in Garhwali dialect.





Those who spoke on the ocassion were leading theatre artist and organiser Laxmi Rawat, Dr. Hari Suman Bisht, eminent entrepreneur and activist Sanjay Joshi, Hem Pant, Rakesh Gaur, Sushila Rawat, first woman director of regional Uttarakhandi films, Jageshwar Joshi, former state minister of Uttarakhand Dhirendra Pratap, editor Uknationews Sunil Negi, renowned writer Ramesh Chandra Ghildiyal, eminent actors and scriptwriter Dr. Satish Kaleshwari, actor and writer Kusum Chouhan, and Media advisor to CM Uttarakhand Manmohan Sati.
The three judges Ramesh Ghildiyal, Hem Pant and Sunil Negi were also honoured on this ocassion with a citation and shawl. The event was very ably anchored by actor of Uttarakhand’s films and activist of Pragya Arts Theatre Jagmohan Singh Rawat.
