Former BJP MLA from Haridwar expelled for six years for practising polygamy ( marrying an actress) that goes against its own UCC

The saffron party seems to be in a mess rather jeopardy as several of its leaders have been allegedly implicated in immoral acts with tremendous media hype defaming the party. There have allegedly been cases of rapes against its “Chutbhaiyye” leaders , former vice chairman of Milk scheme department, former state minister’s son involved in the most infamous, shameful and tragic Ankita Bhandari case, and the recent one in which a former BJP woman leader of Haridwar is in jail for allegedly forcing her daughter in illicit sexual acts with her paramour and his associate etc. Not only this but during the last tenure one BJP MLA from Kumaon was found having illicit relationship with a woman who claimed him to be her husband. The last year’s controversy about one of its then minister of finance Prem Aggrawal publicly beating one RSS worker alongwith his security on Rishikesh road with its video going viral was not enough as he thereafter abused the Pahadee Community in the assembly angrily finally compelled to give up his minister ship. There are umpteen such cases but there is always a limit to anything. However, the recent expulsion of a BJP leader and former MLA of the saffron party from Jwalapur Haridwar Suresh Rathore for such years for committing polygamy , marrying another woman , an actress Urmila Sanawar has yet again brought bad name to the BJP.

According to the news reports the BJP leadership came into action after the former BJP Jwalapur MLA from Haridwar Suresh Rathore publicly accepted for having married a Saharanpur, UP based actress Urmila Sanawar and the Congress party leaders started accusing BJP for openly violating the regulations of Uniform Civil Code implemented by it exclusively in Uttarakhand for the first time in the entire country claiming it to be the sole model to implement it nationally.

The Congress leaders unambiguously came down heavily on the BJP government in Uttarakhand asking to take immediate stringent action against its former MLA Satish Rathore and expel him from the party for violating their own UCC.

Avoiding to come into more controversy and in order to curb the crisis in the party the state chief Mahendra Bhatt wasted no time to direct his subordinates general secretary to expel Satish Rathore for six years from the primary membership of the party.

However, before his expulsion he was given a show cause notice to explain the accusations against him within seven days. Since the former BJP MLA couldn’t respond to the charges in the notice served to him, the party has no option but to expel him for six years from BJP with immediate effect.

State BJP general secretary admitted that the image of the party has been degraded by the action of the former MLA and under no circumstances will the party tolerate such immoral and indisciplined acts said BJP general secretary Rajinder Bisht. What is qinteresting to note here is the fact that in the year 2021 also the former MLA was accused of sexual assault charges by a BJP worker accusing him of tape and blackmail. The party started the investigation in the matter. In 2024 top there were charges of dowry harassment and violations of SCST prevention act.
