Former chief minister Gujarat Mr. Rupani dies in the plane crash, several injured

The former chief minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani who was travelling in the Air India plane is believed to have died due to the plane crash which was heading for England from Ahmedabad. The former chief minister was listed in Z class considered to be the business class. The news about the tragedy of the sad demise of Vijay Rupani has sent shock waves around. The London bound flight of Air India Dreamliner crashed today hitting a wall of Adani Airport falling over a building of doctors in Ahmedabad with tremendous smoke emitting after the crash. According to the ANI new agency post on X : Ahmedabad plane crash | Dhananjay Dwivedi, Additional Chief Secretary, Gujarat Health and Family Welfare Department says, “…Ahmedabd Civil Hospital students’ hostel, staff quarters and other residential areas are located in the area where the plane crashed. The residents of that area were also injured. About 50 injured people have been brought to Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad. They are being provided the best treatment. They are serious but stable. DNA testing arrangements have been made at B.J. Medical, so families and close ones of the flight passengers, especially their parents and children, are requested to submit their samples at the location. So that the victims are identified at the earliest. If relatives of the passengers and other injured who have been brought to the Civil Hospital have to make any inquiry, Civil Hospital Ahmedabad has issued two helpline numbers – 6357373831 and 6357373841. It may be recalled that Vijay Rupani was the chief minister of Gujarat from 2016 to 2021 holding the important office for two consecutive terms. He is survived by a wife and two sons having an earlier lost son Pujit.
The prime minister Narendra Modi expressed his anguish and serious concern over the plane crash saying that the tragedy in Ahmedabad has stunned and saddened us. It is heartbreaking beyond words. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with everyone affected by it. Have been in touch with Ministers and authorities who are working to assist those affected. The union home minister Amit Shah while expressing his anguish said
Pained beyond words by the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. Disaster response forces have been quickly rushed to the crash site. Spoke with the Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Home Minister Shri Harsh Sanghavi, and Commissioner of Police Ahmedabad to assess the situation wrote Amit Shah on X.

It may be recalled that till now only one passenger in board this flight is being shown as alive namely Mr. Vishwas with British citizenship taking treatment in the hospital with injuries. The Air India plane had 240 passengers on board with 169 Indians and fifty three British citizens.
