India is closely monitoring the Kabul situation. Plane with 85 stranded Indians reaching Delhi by evening.

The American president Joe Biden has catagorically warned Taliban to exercise restraint as any action against American forces would be taken extremely seriously and would be taught a stringent lesson. On Friday the US President Joe Biden said that any attack on American forces in Kabul or attempts to disrupt it’s evacuation operation would be dealt with severely inviting a swift and forceful response further reiterating that the United States administration is keeping a laser focus on counter terrorism mission, along with their allies despite leaving Afghanistan.

Biden unambiguously said that United States will not allow Afghanistan to become the nucleus of terrorism further saying that the US is scanning for any potential terrorist threat in and around the Airports and that from the Islamic State affiliates of Taliban in Afghanistan.

As per the news reports coming in the US President was speaking to reporters at White House.

Meanwhile, about 150 Indians who were earlier reported to have been kidnapped by the Taliban have reached the Kabul airport to be lifted back to India.

According to news reports they were sent at a safe place nearby the Kabul airport by the US troops to avoid rush at the airport.

All the Indians are reported to be safe now. It is learnt that the Indian stranded in Kabul had reached the airport to board the evacuation flights but were taken to the nearby police station for questioning and checking their travel documents according to top govt sources while rumours floated about their possible abduction.

These rumours caught the attention of the media hours after an Indian Air Force plane lifted 85 Indians from Kabul Airport this morning which landed safely in Tazakistan adding that a second Aircraft is on a standby in India.

So far about 1000 Indians including the Indian Ambassador in Kabul Embassy n its entire staff have been safely brought back to India from war torn Afghanistan.

The prime minister Narendra Modi had also convened an important high meeting of cabinet committee to take stock of the situation to ensure that all Indians stranded in war torn Afghanistan are safely evacuated to India.

According to the Indian foreign minister S. Jaishanker the Indian government is very carefully n closely monitoring the situation in Afghanistan and Kabul with its priority being to safely evacuate a the stranded Indians from Kabul and other parts of Afghanistan. It may be recalled that about 155 Indians including diplomats, senior officers, security personnel and employees working in Afghanistan majority of them in Kabul was safely evacuated by C17 IAF aircraft on Tuesday.

According to an estimate about four to five hundred Indians are reported to be stranded in Kabul, Afghanistan and the plane carrying 85 Indians is likely to reach Delhi by today evening.

It may be recalled that on the day Taliban entered Kabul after capturing 34 of the 35 provinces, the Afgan president Abdul Ghani Khan n vice president including his total staff and council of ministers fled the country.

Though the vice president is still in the country fighting the Taliban from his province Panjsheer rest have fled to different countries. After reaching Abu Dhabi where Ghani was accorded political asylum with his family and team of loyals, he addressed the press conference refuting false claims about his fleeing the country with loads of currency. Ghani clarified that he had to leave Kabul because he feared his assassination. Had he been in Kabul he would had been killed and hung at a lamp post as was the former president of Afghanistan Mohammed Nazibulla was brutally killed by Taliban and hung to lamp post. He catagorically stated my assassination by the Taliban would have been the great insult of Afghanistan.

Therefore, I was constrained to flee the country said former president Ghani assuring that he will come back shortly. Former president of Afghanistan M. Nazibulla a communist ideologically clase to Russia was brutally killed by Taliban in 1996. However, his family was lucky as they had sought refuge in India on the instructions of Nazibulla.
