History will remember you always. Neeraj Chopra brings first Gold for India in Tokyo Olympics

There is a wave of infinite rejoice in the country and is quite obvious as the lone and only Gold winner in Tokyo Olympics, merely 23 years old outstanding Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has surprised, shocked and overwhelmed one and all fetching a first gold medal for the country in Tokyo Olympics. In the history of 125 years India has for the very first time fetched 7 medals in Tokyo Olympics setting an outstanding record.

A second Gold medalist after eminent shooter Abhinav Bindra, Neeraj Chopra has won the most prestigious individual 2 nd Gold medal for the country in Tokyo Olympics.

In the Indian history till now, India has bagged 10 gold medals with Indian Hockey team winning 8 Gold medals for the country.

After his outstanding performance, the former Asian Gold medallist, 23 years old Neeraj Chopra’s Gold medal has totalled the tally of Indian medals in Tokyo Olympics to the highest 7 numbers, which is a record in itself as in 2012 London Olympics India’s total medal tally was six numbers.

While outstanding Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has become the first Indian Gold medalist in men’s catagory, international shuttler representing India, PV Sindhu has become the first woman record holder in India to bag two medals in Olympics, first in 2016 Rio Olympics and another in Tokyo Olympics.

Neeraj Chopra had qualified for the javelin final with a throw of 86.65 metres. Earlier he had won the Bronze medal throwing Javelin to 86.79 metres in Kuortane games.

He has won the first ever Gold medal in Tokyo Olympics making an outstanding record by throwing the Javelin at 87.58 metres distance in his second attempt becoming the first gold medalist in Tokyo Olympics and second Indian to win individual Gold medal after shooter Abhinav Bindra.

While heartily congratulating javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra for winning Gold for the country President Ram Nath Kovind wrote : Unprecedented win by Neeraj Chopra ! Your Javelin Gold breaks barriers and creates history. You bring home first ever track and field medal to India in your first Olympics. Your feats will inspire our youth. India is elated ! Heartiest Congratulations tweeted president of India.

The prime minister Narendra Modi tweeted : Just spoke to @Neeraj _Chopra1 and congratulated him on winning the Gold. Appreciated his hard work and tenacity which had been on full display during #Tokyo 2029. He personifies the best of sporting talent and sportsman spirits. Besh wishes for his future endeavours.

in his earlier tweet extremely jubilant prime minister wrote : History has been scripted at Tokyo! What @Neeraj _Chopra2 has achieved today will be remembered forever. The young Neeraj has done exceptionally well. He played with remarkable passion and showed unparalleled grit. Congratulations to him for winning the Gold #Tokyo2020 tweeted PM.
