Uttarakhand’s Johnny lever Ghananand Aka Ghana Bhai leaves for his eternal journey. Breathed his last at Dehradun today after cardiac arrest

The Jonny Lever of Uttarakhand , eminent comic artist and actor Ghananand aka Ghanna Bhai who was seriously ill and is admitted in the Indresh Hospital Dehradun in critical condition on the ventilator since the last five days has breathed his last today sending shock waves in entire Uttarakhand and the country including abroad where Uttarakhandies live in abundance. Ghananand Aka Ghana bhai suffered a cardiac arrest this morning at 9.00 AM and the doctors attending him tried their best to revive his heart beats by giving current but if no avail. However, he was thereafter against put in ventilator. After some hours when the doctors saw no sign of revenue val He was declared dead.

He was nearly seventy years old. Ghananand Aka Ghana bhai was also a heart patient with a pacemaker fitted in his chest.

According to the latest news his health condition is being monitored by the senior doctors in the critical care unit of Indresh hospital in Dehradun.

After being fitted with the pacemaker Ghananand aka Ghana bhai was in regular touch of the cardiologists and was taking their constant advice. A few days before when he saw blood oozing out in his urine he became suspicious of deterioration of his health condition and went to the doctors for the necessary treatment.

In the hospital he was put on blood transfusion but his condition deteriorated further. When his condition couldn’t be cured the doctors put him on ventilation five days ago.

It may be recalled that Ghananand aka Ghanna Bhai is a renowned comic actor of Uttarakhand having acted in an umpteen number of films of Uttarakhand and also in music albums etc.

His outstanding histrionics as a comic actor have been lauded not only with millions of fans in Uttarakhand but in metropolises and abroad as well.

He had performed in hundreds of stage shows especially with legendary singer and lyricist Narendra Singh Negi – in Uttarakhand, metropolises and several states of India including abroad invited by the Uttarakhand’s fraternity.

The then Uttarakhand CM of Pauri Garhwal Major General Khanduri offered him a ticket from Pauri Garhwal assembly constituency in 2012 but he lost . However he tried for a BJP ticket after several years again but couldn’t be successful. During the BJP tenure in Uttarakhand he was also given the status of state minister as the Secretary of Uttarakhand Sanskritik and Natak Academy for two years.

I fondly remember that when I took Rajesh Khanna in one of his programmes in Delhi Swatantra Bharat Mills during nineties there were thousands of people assembled there due to Legendary Narendra Singh Negi and Ghananand Ghanna Bhai and the first Superstar Rajesh Khanna to arrive.

When Kaka arrived being in a hurry he took the mike from Ghananand performing then and started addressing the enthusiastic crowd curiously waiting for him. Ghananand bhai felt it badly and registered his protest though he too loved and adored Kaka too much. Such things happen sometimes unintentionally, however.

Ghanna Bhai was born in 1953. Primary education was from Cantt Board Lansdowne district, Pauri. Ghanna Bhai started his artistic journey in 1970 by acting in #Ramleela plays.

In 1974, he gave programs on Radio #Doordarshan, after which he presented on many stages of #Hindustan. Gave his best acting in Garhwali films #Gharjaveen, #Chakrachaal, #Beti_Bwari, #Jitu_Bagdwal, #Satmangalya, #BwariHoTaYani, and superhit movies #Ghanna Bhai M, B, B, S, #Ghanna Girgit and Yamraj.
