After the defeat of AAP and victory of BJP in Delhi order issued prohibiting carrying of records, files, computer hardware etc out of Delhi secretariat to address security concerns and safety of records

After the drastic defeat of the Aam Admi Party in the Delhi polls and Bhartiya Janata Party coming to power after twenty seven protracted years with its government in NCT of Delhi to be formed in the next few days, the new administration has commenced issuing orders restricting the taking out of the office records, files, computer hardware etc out of the Delhi secretariat , the headquarter of the Delhi government from where functions the chief minister, its secretariat and all the ministers including all the offices of the state government of NCT of Delhi etc.

Just after the announcement of the results declaring clear cut victory of the BJP securing a very comfortable majority of 48 numbers out of seventy with AAP restricted to merely 22 seats and Congress zero, for the third consecutive time, the new order issued by Mr. Pradeep Tayal , Joint Secretary, General Administration Delhi , Government of NCT of Delhi issued today read that in order to address security concerns and safety of records , it is requested that no files/ documents, Computer Hardware etc may be taken outside Delhi secretariat complex without the permission from GAD. It is therefore directed that necessary directions may be issued to the concerned Branch in – charges under the departments / offices situated in Delhi secretariat to ensure safety of records, files, documents , electronic files etc under their sections/ branches. This order shall also be applicable to Secretariat Offices and Camp offices of Council of Ministers and incharges of both the offices are also directed for compliance of the order. The order have been sent to Chief secretary, Principal secretaries and Secretaries including secretaries to the chief minister and all the ministers of government of NCT of Delhi.

It may be recalled that AAM Admi Party has secured twenty seats and BJP 48 with former CM Arvind Kejriwal, former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, minister Saurabh Bharadwaj n former law minister Somnath Bharti etc losing at the hands of BJP. While Delhi CM Atishi has won from Kalkaji defeating vociferous ingress leader Alka Lamba and former MP Ramesh Biduri she will badly feel the absence of Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Somnath Bharti etc in the assembly. There are speculations that already entwined in several cases of PMLA and Delhi government’s liquor policy related scam, now on bail, after losing in election the days of the AAP leaders are extremely tough in the days to come especially because they were always in confrontation with the LG and the union government led by Prime minister Narendra Modi always accusing the saffron party leaders for creating bottlenecks on their way of development of Delhi. It remains to be seen whether the freebies announced by the BJP will be implemented and the free ride in DTC buses including other concessions will continue as before or taken back. Fingers crossed.
