Kejrival and Atishi to contest from their old seats – New Delhi and Kalkaji. Tarun Yadav declared AAP candidate from Najafgarh
The Bhartiya Janata Party has so far not released the list of its single candidate whereas the Aam Admi Party has released three lists so far declaring the names of 32 candidates. It has cut the tickets of 17 sitting MLAs till now and obliged good number of former MLAs who have defected from Congress n BJP to AAP recently. The Congress party too has released its first list of 21 candidates.
Today the AAP has released a third list of a single candidate namely Tarun Yadav who has joined AAP recently.
Tarun Yadav’s wife is a two term councillor from Najafgarh as independent having good hold in the area.
Yadav is said to be a renowned social worker of Najafgarh and that’s the reason AAP has obliged him by giving him the party ticket. Tarun Yadav’s wife too has a strong hold in Najafgarh constituency who will be an asset to her husband.
Tarun Yadav will now fight against the AAP’s former transport minister and two time sitting MLA from Najafgarh Kailash Gehlot who has joined Bhartiya Janata Party recently.
Meanwhile, Arvind Kejrival has declared that he is very much fighting the election from New Delhi seat from where he is the third term MLA and the Delhi CM Atishi too will contest from Kalkaji, her original seat.
This question arose because in Delhi’s several seats there are reports of anti incumbency factor going against the ruling AAP especially at constituency level.
That’s the reason that AAP has dropped the tickets of about 15 sitting MLAs and two changing their constituencies , one former Delhi CM Manish Sisodia going to Jangpura and Delhi deputy speaker Rakhi Bidlan shifting from Mangolpuri to Madipur.
It may be recalled that former deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s winning margin from Patparganj constituency had come down from 21000 votes to 3100 votes in 2019. This made Manish Sisodia worried finally shifting to Jangpura considered to be the safest seat.
