UTTARAKHAND EKTA MANCH GIVES A CALL FOR 22 DECEMBER AT JANTAR MANTAR DEMANDING TRIBAL STATUS FOR UTTARAKHAND
One of the leading social organisations in the national capital also active in Uttarakhand and NCR lead by Anoop Bisht and Mr. Rauthan who have taken the initiative to mobilise people in various parts of Uttarakhand , NCR and the national capital territory on the significant issue of including Uttarakhand under the 5 th Schedule of the constitution in order to grant credible and concrete land act to the hilly state including fulfilling other aspirations have been utilising the Delhi and NCR Ramleelas to propagate their message among the Uttarakhandies and have acknowledged tremendous response and support from the Ramleela Committees of Kumaoni Sanskritik Mandal, Pyali Chowk, Faridabad, Uttaranchal Juva Jaan Sangathan, Sehatpur, Faridabad and Devbhoomi Sanskritik Dharmik Samiti, Patparganj, Delhi.
The leaders of Uttarakhand Ekta Manch who had been organising seminars on this important issue at Haldwani, Delhi, Dehradun and Chandigarh etc to mobilise people in favour of this pivotal issue have been urging people of Uttarakhand to gather at Jantar Mantar in 22 nd December exhibiting their historic unity to pressurise the union government to hear to their genuine demand giving tribal status to Uttarakhand by including it under the fifth schedule of the constitution.
The response is tremendous and the people of Uttarakhand are of the unambiguous opinion that this is the only credible alternative to change the date of Uttarakhand which has been suffering tremendously as its youths are massively unemployed, half of the Uttarakhand lands have been bought by the outsiders spoiling and destroying Uttarakhand’s demography including massive crime existing there with outsiders multiplying in population and assembly seats of interior rural Uttarakhand phenomenally decreasing and the plains’ seats increasing due to massive exodus to cities, towns and metropolises including non availability of hospitals, quality schools and job avenues in the rural areas of this hilly region with corruption becoming manifold and leaders , contractors, miners, liquor and building, land mafia allegedly minting massive profits out of the tax payers money.
It may be recalled that there have been nine – ten chief ministers in Uttarakhand during the past 25 years and corruption manifold but the lot of the people, not improved with migration on the massive rise and youths longing for employment.
There have been massive protests in Uttarakhand by thousands of electorates demanding concrete land act and 1950 citizenship rights but of no avail as the the BJP government has in 2016-17 lifted the ceiling on 12.5 acres of land resulting in outsiders massively buying Lands in Uttarakhand and thereafter selling them in the shape of plots to outsiders on massive scale minting huge profits, thus spoiling and disturbing the demography of the state.
On 2 nd October the Uttarakhand Ekta Manch had given the call to all to gather at Jantar Mantar to extend solidarity to climate activist and Magsaysay awarded Sonam Wangchuk and his colleagues demanding inclusion of Ladakh in the 6 th schedule of the constitution but 163 Bhartiya Nyay SANHITA was imposed and all the peaceful protestors arrested at Singhu Border.
Hence the Uttarakhand Ekta Manch has now called the protest at Jantar Mantar on 22 nd December, 2024 demanding Uttarakhand to be accorded a tribal status and its inclusion in the fifth schedule of the constitution.
