Delhi Soccer Premier League commenced from 26 th September

Inaugural match played between defending champions Garhwal Heroes and United Bharat FC

Delhi Premier League 2024-25 organized by the Delhi Soccer Association (Football Delhi) began on 26-Sep-2024. The inaugural match was played between the defending champions Garhwal Heroes Football Club and United Bharat FC at 1 PM at Ambedkar Statdium, Delhi. United Bharat FC played their first match in the Delhi Premier League after being promoted from the DSA – Senior Division League. Garhwal won by an impressive score of 6-0 where the first half saw 4 goals. Milind Negi opened the score for Garhwal in the third minute, followed by a brace from Ishan Bok. Garhwal was 3-0 up by the first 25 minutes. Bhandari closed the first half with the 4th goal of the match. The second half began with a strong fight from United Bharat. No goals were seen till the 75th minute as United Bharat and Garhwal tested each other’s defence. This progress was disrupted by Garhwal’s Milind Negi who scored another goal in the 78th minute to complete his brace. Garhwal’s Mehra sealed the match with the sixth goal in the 88th minute. Milind Negi was awarded the man of the match for his two spectacular goals and his off-the-ball contributions throughout the match. The match was a beautiful sight with Garhwal fans coming to witness their team and celebrate their victory in great numbers.

The second match off the day was between Royal Rangers FC and National United Sporting Club where the former prevailed with a score of 2-0. Ashutosh Thapliyal was awarded the man of the match trophy.

27th September will feature two intense clashes at Ambedkar Stadium. The first match will be played between CISF and Tarun Sangha FC at 1 PM. This will be followed by another nail-biting match between Vatika FC and Hindustan FC at 4 PM. This league is a call to all football lovers to witness the great sport and celebrate the spirit of football!
