TWENTY TWO YR. OLD MARRIED WOMAN BRUTALLY KILLED BY A MANEATER AT RAMNAGAR, KALAGARH HOUSE COMPOUND
A maneater leopard yesterday late evening pounced on a woman busy in her daily family chores in her house compound at Kalagarh under the jurisdiction of Ram Nagar Corbett Tiger Reserve.
When the maneater leopard pounced on the woman with the intention to grab and drag her to the nearby bushes/ jungle as is their modus operandi usually, the badly panicked women created a noise alongwith the neighbours and the villagers as a result, the leopard had no option but to free the panicked woman from its clutches in a huff.
But by the time he left the woman she had died due to the deep wound and the terror of the maneater.
According to the information pouring in the twenty two year young woman was washing her utensils in the house compound in the evening hours when a maneater clandestinely on a prowl for human flesh pounced on her and grabbed her piercing its teeth on her throat creating a deep wound.
The badly panicked woman in the grip of the maneater raised her voise raising alarm amid panic with villagers too started making loud noise compelling the maneater leave its grip on her running to the nearby jungle.
Teena the married twenty two year old woman was by this time badly injured with deep wounds n the family and villagers taking her to the nearby health centre.
As the desperate villagers and family members reached the hospital with injured woman she breathed her last due to multiple deep wounds.
The police has taken the dead body in their possession and send it for postmortem. The villagers are badly panicked and in anguish fearing that the lives of their children, women and old persons of the village is in acute danger after this dreaded incident.
In Ram Nagar Corbett National park there had been several incidents earlier too when the maneaters have grabbed the pillon riders of the motorcycle and killed a person sitting near the jungle site. In Pauri Garhwal too several women were dragged from their farmlands and house compound by maneaters finally leaving their badly mutilated dead bodies in the nearby jungles few hundred metres away.
