WORLD CUP WINNING INDIAN CRICKET TEAM MEET PM AT HIS Lok Kalyan Marg residence today
The prime minister Narendra Modi today invited the World CUP T- 20 Winner team at his residence and met them congratulating heartily on their overwhelming victory in the ICC T- 20 World CUP. The Indian Cricket team after reaching India from Barbados, came to the Hotel ITC Maurya at Sardar Patel Marg and from there after freshening up went to the prime minister’s Lok Kalyan Marg official residence where the PM was awaiting to meet and welcome them. The victorious players were given a rousing welcome at the Hotel, Maurya Sheraton. A cake was cut in honour of the victorious players.
The prime minister was in a jubilant mood and posed for a photograph with the entire team holding the World CUP trophy in his hands. The prime minister was seen jubilantly interacting with the coach of Indian team Rahul Dravid, all rounder Hardik Pandya, former Captain n batsman Virat Kohli, Surya Kumar Yadav who caught the catch on the boundary leading to SA batsman Millar send back to pavilion and Roshan Pant and other team members.
After meeting the prime minister Narendra Modi the Indian Cricket team will fly to Mumbai, the economic capital of India from where the entire team will participate in a largely attended road show from Wankhede stadium to Nariman point waving the trophy and acknowledging the cheers of the crowd. After the road show which will conclude at the Wankhede Cricket stadium , the entire team would be felicitated in the presence of thousands of people n cricket fans in a gorgeous function.
The T-20 Indian cricket team had won the World CUP on Saturday defeating South Africa , 29 th June but reached India on 4 th July as there was a thunderstorm there. The BCCI has arranged a special chartered flight for the victorious team to ferry them back to India. After reaching Maurya hotel from the Airport they received a grand reception at the hotel and , thereafter meeting the prime minister on his cordial invitation. The meeting of the victorious ICC T- 20 World Cup players of Indian Cricket team lasted for over 1.5 hours and the prime minister interacted with the players making everyone happy congratulating them all for this outstanding triumph raising the Indian National Tricolour high bringing laurels for the country.
