COMRADE ATUL ANJAAN WILL BE OUR SOURCE OF INSPIRATION : D. RAJA, GENERAL SECRETARY CPI
A condolence meeting was held at Communist Party of India ‘s central office Ajoy Bhawan in New Delhi attended by several prominent leaders of CPI, CPM and other political parties.
The general secretary of CPI D. Raja was deeply anguished over the sad demise of the national secretary of CPI and General Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya KISAN Sabha Comrade Atul Kumar Anjaan.
Expressing his deepest condolences on the passing away of Comrade Atul Anjaan, D. Raja said that a dedicated and committed leader of the poor, down trodden, backwards, farmers and youths would always remain in our hearts and minds as Atul Anjaan has not died but is very much among us.
Narrating the days of his close association with Atul Anjaan, D. Raja said that he was a renowned student, youth leader, president of Lucknow University and committed & dynamic leader of AISF having led it for years as its chief but his contribution in framing the Dr. Swaminathan Committee policies in MSP and other concessions, Anjaan’s pivotal role could not be forgotten.

Dr. Raja said the Communist movement in general and the CPI in particular has lost a towering youth and farmers leader who was not only very popular among the working class, farmers and intellectuals but his invaluable contribution to various students and youth movements as a legendary youth leader and orator could not be forgotten ever.
D. Raja said that he will be a great inspiration to the youths, students and entire communist fraternity and was the towering leader among the contemporary leaders of CPI.

The polit bureau member and general secretary of CPM Comrade Sitaram Yachuri remembered his long association with Comrade Atul Anjaan saying that though both of them had always been in close proximity in various youth and student movements having gone and attended various international youth festivals but we had differences too. Lauding his meticulous oratorical skills Sitaram Yachury said that he would speak for hours and there were times when we used give him time to speak first while waiting for senior leader to arrive , thus covering the time by his long and interesting speech. He was such a charmer by his oratory said Comrade Yachury.
Lauding the dynamism, enthusiasm, oratorical skills and knowledge about people centric issues Comrade Sitaram Ram Yachuri said that his passing away is a huge loss to principled politics, communist movement and politics of dissent and a huge loss to the working class of the country especially the farmers and those living at the lowest ebb of the society.
Let’s imbibe his principles, his struggle oriented phenomenon and his principled political approach always uncompromisingly adhering to left movement , its committed ideology and principles for the good of the society, the poor, down trodden, helpless and those living at the lowest ebb of the society.
The national secretary of CPI having worked with Comrade Atul Anjaan in close proximity for several decades Amarjeet Kaur who is also associated with AITUC as its prime leader said that Atul Anjaan started his debut in politics as a dynamic student leader in seventies when he won the election as president of Lucknow University students union with a thumping majority. He was one of the best orators who would never allow to dominate him in speeches, debates and discussions. Amarjeet said we both had been in lots of international youth festivals together abroad and participated in various kisan, youth and students movements together courting arrests for several days.

Terming Atul as a dashing leader who always wanted to be first to go to jail on people’s issues Amarjeet said that we’ve lost a great comrade, a true and committed communist leader who dedicated his entire life in the service of the working class, the farmers, students, youths and women community. He will be remembered ever. I pay my respectful tributes to the departed soul said Comrade Amarjeet Kaur.

Atul’s sister and Prof. Dinesh Varshney Secretary CPI Delhi State Council and Member CPI National Council.

It was a huge gathering to remember Com. Atul. People from all walks of life attended other than the Comrades from DELHI, HARYANA AND PUNJAB and paid their floral tributes to Comrade Atul Anjaan.
