AMERICAN AUGER MACHINE STOPPED DRILLING TWICE DUE TO TECHNICAL SNAG today. DRILLING AND STEEL PIPE INSERTION DONE TILL 2.2 METRES only

The American auger machine placed on a heavy platform inside the tunnel has created technical snags twice, first yesterday late night and there after today after drilling merely 2.2 metres including inserting steel pipe.

The earlier speculations about the early release of 41 trapped workers inside the Silkyara tunnel therefore seem to have been delayed despite the fact that experts, NDRF, Indian Army and entire technical work force are doing their best aggressively to ensure early and safe evacuation of the 41 workers.

These workers had been trapped in the tunnel after a huge part of it collapsed blocking them.

Today is the thirteenth day and so far about 48 metres of the hard debris have been drilled by the American Drilling machine and subsequently steel pipes inserted.

According to the latest news now 8 metres distance need to be overcome by way of drilling and inserting steel pipes which will finally help in evacuating the stuck 41 labourers through stretchers with wheels who will travel inside this 48 metres steel pipe of one diametre.

Meanwhile, a top official at NDMA, member Sayed Ata Hasnain retired Lt. General has issued a warning saying that mission # UTTARKASHI is very challenging, adding timeless / assurances it will be over in two hours are wrong.

He added: Rescue operations are like wars and Himalayan geology is an enemy in this disaster. No timelines are given in such disasters.

Kindly recall that an Australian drilling global expert Arnold Dix is at the tunnel site since the last several days who had assured that he along with the cumulative efforts of the rescue teams, experts, and good wishes of millions of countrymen will successfully evacuate all the 41 trapped labourers out of the tunnel.

According to various reports there was the delay of eight hours today as the Auger drilling machine couldn’t function due to the the heavy iron plates stuck in the debris.

After the drilling machine failed to move ahead, some technicians physically went there and cutted the blocked iron sheets piece by piece making way for the Auger machine to drill further and insert the stell pipes further.

Kindly recall that the former advisor to prime minister Mr. Khulbe, some senior officials are actively on the job and the Union Minister , former Indian Army chief V. K. Singh is stationed st the tunnel site for the last two days monitoring the operation including tge nodal officer and secretary Mr. Khairwal.

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also at the tunnel site today evening and is closely monitoring the entire evacuation efforts by various governmental agencies, undertakings and private sector including NDMA, Indian Army and global drilling expert and chartered engineer Arnold Dix.
